D3Swimming.com has named Vassar’s Julia Cunningham its Athlete of the Week in women’s swimming and diving for meets through October 31st.
Cunningham, a junior from Yardley, Pennsylvania, took first place in three events, leading Vassar to a victory over SUNY-New Paltz on Friday. Cunningham posted times of 2:08.73 in the 200 Fly, 58.93 in the 100 Fly and a 4:41.46 in the 400 IM.
Last season, Cunningham finished seventh in the 200 Fly at the 2015 NCAA Championships.
Cunningham is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.
D3Swimming.com has named Kenyon’s Ian Reardon its Athlete of the Week in men’s swimming and diving for meets through October 31st.
The junior from Upper Arlington, Ohio, was Kenyon’s top finisher in all three of his individual events in the meet against the Ohio State University on Saturday. Reardon’s :58.86, 2:04.89, and 1:54.90 in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, and 200 IM respectively, earn him some of the fastest times in Division II this season. His time in the 200 Breast earned him a “B” cut, he is the twelfth male swimmer to earn one this season.
Reardon placed 4th in the 400 IM, 6th in the 200 Breast and 8th in the 200 IM at last year’s NCAA Championships.
Reardon is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.
