Looks like the Westminster Men’s swimming roster is up. Anyone know anything about any of these guys? I took a brief look on my lunch break, and it looks like a couple of descent freestylers.
Hard to believe the next season is coming up soon!

MemberI’ll leave it to someone else to come up with a full description of their freshmen, but one name sticks out at me: Czaplicki. His brother made NCAAs in the 50 last year from F&M. If it runs in the family (I have no idea whether it does or not), he should jump right into Gesacion’s spot in the sprints. In fact, I expect the Titans would actually come out ahead on that deal. As for the rest……no clue.

MemberI also noticed that Westminster had posted the new rosters. Being curious as to these guys abilities are, I went to PAswimming.com website and checked out what happened last school year during Districts and State Championships. Here’s the best times I found for the first year Westminster swimmers who are from PA:
Erik Chesney – 200 Free 1:56.18; 100 Fly 58.49; 50 Fly (relay start) 25.78
Brett Gerthoffer – 100 Free 48.84; 50 Free 22.35
Ben Gutmann – 200 IM 2:04.04; 100 Br 1:01.11
Adam Mackey – 500 Free 5:05.56; 50 Free (relay start) 22.92
Chase Saraiva – 200 Free 1:53.30; 100 Back 1:00.68
Steve Seidelson – 500 Free 4:53.85; 200 Free 1:47.95
Anyway it seems to me that Gerthoffer, Gutmann and Seidelson, (along with Czaplicki) will be scoring some points come PAC Championships time. Certainly a decent freshman class, but will it be enough to qualify some, as well as a relay to Nationals?

Grove City’s roster is now available. . . I haven’t had a chance to look up anyone yet, maybe tomorrow. It looks like a big freshman class though!

Memberjust because i was curious i looked up czaplicki’s older brother’s results at f&m. he ended up 5th at NCAA’s with a 20.80 (20.73 prelims). whats amazing is tht he was only 22.08 his freshman year. will this guy be like his brother was as a freshman or as a senior? will he be enough to get a westminster relay to ncaa’s?

Brian Schultz – 23 in the 50
Seth Zimmerman – 27.4 50 LCM

I was well on my way to being impressed by the fact that both of their recruits were from well outside the WV panhandle. And then I did a quick-search, and, well…..
Feacher (from Florida): apparently a very good football player, but nary a word about his swimming credentials
Piekarski (from Indiana): came in well under 7 minutes in the 500 and almost broke under 2 in the 2free at a meet this past January.
(sigh)
Ah well, it’s only just this year that McGowan can finally start focusing on recruiting for swimming. See what that turns up for him next year.@Re: St. Vincent, Elroy Jetson wrote:

Yeah, very. Anyone know anything about them (or the new sophomore from Texas)? The quick-search method didn’t work out so well for them.
By the way, does anyone with a little inside information know when we can expect the W&J rosters?

Notes of point: 10 freshmen/25 total, K. Mastropietro NOT among them. Maybe one of their freshmen will free up Orstein to keep tackling non-breaststroke legs of the medleys?
