Whatever the reason is, I want to note that Limestone men’s team got much stronger this year -

Whatever the reason is, I want to note that Limestone men’s team got much stronger this yearYes they did – a freshman class of 10 is a big step. And McKenzie is clearly very talented. But there is no way they challenge Wingate in a dual meet. I’m not sure any team in the conference can. They just have way too much firepower between Chagas, Corcoran, Vlashchenko, Norman, & Dugan. That’s a murderer’s row. Each one could win every event they put him in, and they’re versatile enough (particularly Chagas & Corcoran) that Kirk doesn’t have to double them up at all. Their depth might be a question in February, but with those 5 guys I don’t see how they drop more than possibly 1 or 2 events – McKenzie over Corcoran in the IM / Vlashchenko in the breast – and I’m not even sure they’ll get those.
And yes, unless I see some serious time drops from W&L at Kenyon then I have to predict Wingate will be 1st at the conference meet.

MemberCan limestone challenge wingate? No. Can SCAD challenge wingate? No.
Can anyone in this conference challenge wingate? Not in a dual-meet format. Possible W&L with their depth at the conference meet but I would think that they need to bring in a couple of people in january.
I do agree that limestone is having an interesting team. Mckenzie and Jordens could take them to the third place at the conference meet -

Memberpersonally, I think wingate will have more depth with some of the guys that taper very well than what some people think…
but also, does the website for the conference still operate?
since W&L doesn’t have athletic scholarship to dish out, it seems like the prospect of an addition that they’ll need for January is slim…unless I’m missing something….

MemberNo, people do not start at W&L in January…
The conference website is dead b/c it was operated by Rose-Hulman, which made the sensible decision to switch to the CCIW.
The only reason I mentioned Wingate’s depth as a possible issue is because there’s a drop-off after those first 5 guys in the impressiveness of the swims so far…but last year their drops at the conference meet were incredible, so there’s really no reason to doubt that they will be again.

MemberThat’s a good question. I didn’t even realize that he wasn’t showing up in their results. He definitely fills the hole they’ve had so far in back. Injury perhaps?
