MemberThere were some pretty impressive drops in time by some swimmers this year, both compared to their times last year and /or their times at the beginning of this season.
Even though it’s a while away, are there any people you’re looking forwards to see swim next season? anybody we might expect to see some improvement from?I for one am looking for some nice swims from Tapia-Rodriguez, Bentley, Manly, Meyer, Stewart, Gustie freshman girls, ole freshman guys, and some more. I’m just going off my feelings from the meet, not so much as looking at the actual facts. But that’s up to the rest of you to fix.

MemberWell if it’s not too soon to talk about next season…
I heard that Gustavus siblings Skylar and Larkin Davis have two younger siblings (twins) who are also phenomenal distance swimmers.
Moonbeam and Stardust Davis apparently visited Gustavus a few weeks ago. I heard that Moonbeam plans on being a Gustie swimmer next year, but Stardust being the rebel of the family, is seriously looking at Hamline. -

Memberi too have heard a rumor of more davis’. however, i heard that there is only one sibling. a brother. his name is whitaker. i am assuming he is related because of the last name and same high school. i checked the illinois high school swim website. it would be awesome if he came to gustavus…or any other MIAC school. he is pretty fast, but not as fast as his brother.

MemberWhitaker (AKA: Star-Dave) doesn’t look that far behind Sky-Dave in the 500 (based on their high school times). Maybe he’s like his bro and gets better the longer the race is.
I think John Fox from St. Mary’s is on the edge of becoming a national qualifier someday.
I also think Hamline could make a push to crack the top 4 next year depending on their recruiting class. When I swam, I think Hamline had 4 guys on the team. Closing down the Lee LeNore’s “sauna” on Snelling a few years ago has not seemed to hurt recruiting like I thought it would.

I find it interesting that you have assigned the nickname “Star-Dave” to this Whitaker fellow, especially since the real Star-Dave (Stardust Davis) and the real Moon-Dave (Moonbeam Davis) are actually female.
Anyway I just heard that the Davis twins have decided to skip college altogether, and concentrate on their budding careers as professional famous people. They should do well (because of their cool names) and they already have endorsements from the Olson twins and Paris Hilton. -

You can pretty much attach anything to the front of Dave to make a great nickname. Sky-Dave, Steve-Dave (another GAC alum), etc.
“Why-Dave” might be a better choice than “Star-Dave”, but both nickname options are in beta testing right now anyway.

Or maybe I’m Lark-Dave.skylar, whitaker, moonbeam, stardust… this is like the zappa family.
“Zappa was married twice, once to Kathryn “Kay” Sherman (1960–1964; no children), and then in 1967 to Adelaide Gail Sloatman, with whom he remained until his death in December 1993 of prostate cancer. They had four children: Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen. Gail Zappa handles the businesses of her late husband under the company name the Zappa Family Trust.” – Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_zappa
