News to me. Does it have anything to do with his coaching of the Channel swimmer?
Do you have any more information?

MemberI heard he was invited to coach at Stanford for the year, something he has apparently done before. Along with Brooke, former distance swimmer Elise Knoche is also coaching for the Knights next year.

Sounds like a great opportunity for him, if in fact he is coaching at Standford. Anybody think this will impact how the team fares come Conference? I’m sure Brooke and Elise are very knowledgeable, but aren’t head coaches yet.

MemberAthletic Director Leon Lunder made a great choice here.
I think Larsen will be an excellent interim to the head coach this season.
She knows how to swim… which is a plus, but not a must, for D-III head swim coaches.
She is a product of the Northfield High school swim program, class of ’95 (which produced legendary assistant to the head coach Bob Hauck among others), swam for Iowa State, and has been with the Carleton team a few years… so she knows how to write up a workout.
And my sources at Cowling gymnasium tell me that she is endearing herself to the team through playing lots of Ultimate Frisbee, watching sci-fi, and hugging more trees.
Will she be the only female head coach this season for a men’s program in the MIAC? Has there ever been one?
