Member1) Geissinger’s 43.55
Not bad for the guy that was probably considered his teams 5th best swimmer going into the meet.
For reference, at D1’s that split was faster than 25 of the recorded 42 splits in the finals of the 400 Free Relay (including 2 of 3 from Ohio State).
2) 200 Breast: will be 5 more years (atleast) till someone goes under 2:00 again.

MemberAgreed on Geissinger 100%. I was paying closer attention to our relay, figuring Kenyon had it won. Then I looked up to lane 4 and saw him absolutely flying. Huge congratulations to Denison, isn’t that the first time somebody other than Kenyon has broken 3:00? Just an awesome race. Swims like those are why the 400 FR is my favorite event by far.

MemberI know there was talk of putting races up on youtube, and if that’s possible, this would be the race i would want to see more than any other. WOW, what a race!

Membersomething I find really interesting is that Geissinger brought it back nearly a full second faster than he did in his individual event. It wasn’t the relay start that made the difference (in the split), it was the desire to catch the guy in front of him.

MemberYeah that is pretty amazing. 43.5 split to his 45.0 flat start. Similar to Paul Gyorfi 43.6 to 44.9. Either way that is moving.

MemberI heard that he brought his last 25 home in eleven seconds flat. His first 25 was 10.7. Spectacular to watch.
But as for youtube moments, if we could see the finish for the 100 fly, that would be another great one.

Member11 flat on the way home is absolutely flying. He had a very good year, and he is just a junior.

MemberGeissinger is only a sophomore … and, yes, he was flying on that last 25. What a great race by both Denison and Kenyon.

MemberJust to give you an idea of how fast he was actually going I would encourage people to look at the last 25’s of the guys that made the championship final at the D 1 meet. You might be surprised about some of the guys that actually went slower then 11 flat. Yes I confused Geissinger with Byers who is a junior.

Member43.55 – I concur, awesome swim, sweet when someone steps up like that. 5599 – Gyrofi was 43.52! : )
The real reason I was writing: no way it takes 5 years for someone else to break 2:00 in the 200 breast. I see Steve Schrank doing it next year.

MemberAdam Ulrich’s impressive 200 Back (1:48.00), equaling the third-fastest all-time performance in the event.

MemberYeah I could see Schranck breaking 2 minutes. He is a monster in the water, and moves just a ton of water.
Ulrich’s 200 back was really impressive. I am surprised that joey g was that close to that 200 breast record. 1:58.9 just seems so fast, but he was only 4 tenths off.

Two Words, Dolphin Kick
It was interesting to watch the breastroke at the D1 meet last week. Guys would surge forward at a point when they used to be gliding. I don’t mind the rule change, but it looked unnatural.
