MemberWho is going to be at the swim meet, and will anyone be leaving from the Kalamazoo area to head to the meet?
Also, is there going to be some type of indoctrination of the rookie swimmers on Saturday night? I haven’t been to a homecoming in such a long-time, I don’t even know if the team still does this?

MemberI believe a group of us are planning on going up for the meet, but nothing is set in stone as of yet. I’d love to tailgate if possible.
I believe the meet and greet of freshmen will be held on Friday, after the HoF.

MemberI will be in Kzoo on Friday night then heading to Detroit for game 1 of the World Series (provided it doesn’t get delayed by the Mets/Cardinals rain-out-fest)

MemberI will be arriving Friday evening. Saturday I’m planning on going to the meet, and will be driving from Kalamazoo to Jenison. Saturday night I’m sure that a lot of people will want to watch the Tigers game, so we’ll have to find a good spot for that. Sunday at 10am is the alumni meet, which I will swim in. It should be a fun weekend. I may try and squeeze in a trip to Bells’, since it won’t be distributed in Chicagoland for a while.

I’ve been known to jaunt a little here and there… sometimes Drew Bledsoe and i go for a jog. I do, however, feel the alcohol from tailgating would negatively impact my performance.

Memberyou’re going to be tailgating before 8:45am….dang you’re dedicated to the relay meet.
i heard that my peyton manning also joined you for a few runs in years past, if you guys go for a quick jog before this weekend, i’d appreciate you picking up some autographs for all of us (we don’t need any from ol’ drew though, he might lose his job to some guy named romo and that’s sad).

MemberThe relay meet begins at 1, with warm ups at 11. I see no problem with getting there around 10:30 – 11 to begin grilling and drinking. Much better than at the football game in my personal opinion.

MemberI’ll show up for the HoF induction of my buddy Rabbins, and then just hang around for the rest of the weekend until everybody kind of gets sick of me, then I’ll leave. I hate how they combine the jock awards with the nerd awards, we jocks find it difficult to sit thru all those nerds congratulating each other…although the guy from last year who invented Norton antivirus was pretty cool.

No choice. The HofF and Alumni Associations awards are jointly held due to financial reasons. Also the the HofF awards are, in fact, given by the the Alumni Association not the Athletic dept. They rule the day and hold the purse strings. I am sure it is as equally gruelling for those that come specifically to see the Alumni Association awards to sit through the HofF ceremony.

MemberThe whole thing usually lasts an hour, with the jock awards coming last. In the meantime, I usually entertain myself by chanting “NERDS! NERDS!” under my breath 😉
