Ok, while we have exhausted all of the roster talk it is starting to turn into Zoo 24/7. I am not saying that to stir things but what i ma saying is that if we are willing to talk abotu the league meet atht is 6 months away, we should sure as hell talk about the first ever relay meet that is only a shade over a month away.

Let’s look at some of the races…

      Back stroke relay?
      K-Ellis, ?, ?
      O-Powers, Nana, ?
      H-Heyboer, Engers, ?

      Distance? Progressive? Breast?

COME ON! This stuff could be fun! I am not sure how much Hope and Olivet will be shwoing because of their showdown as the first dual meet of the year. Also, since there seems to be no one that posts in favor of olivet, could someone at least make up a handle and legitmately post for them. I mean, they did win the league meet last year, didn’t really lose anyone and we have no idea what they are bringing in.

I know somebody has got that time. Sometimes I don’t think SilentP even has a job.

Pretty sure it’s not the first ever relay meet. Just the first in many many years.

      Didn’t you read this?:

We have heard a lot of talk about K and Hope, and most think Hope has the MIAA title won and K will close the gap on both Hope and Olivet. I believe Olivet may actually repeat.

Who do they lose? I have heard rumors about a couple of transfers out, but nothing special. They also gain Yuri, who did not have much training before last year’s MIAAs.

Their freshman class is no slouch either… they bring in mid D, which was their biggest weakness and a sprinter that could end up being the best in the MIAA next year. They also add depth in other events. Don’t forget, not all mid D studs come in as studs, so watch out.

I know it’s not what people want to hear, but with their current team, the amount of points they won by, and the fact that studs alone won’t win an MIAA title, i think Olivet may rein supreme in 07.

And I just got a promotion to be a Proposal Specialist at CDW. We’re a Fortune 500 Technology company and among the top 50 Companies to Work For as rated by Forbes Magazine. So the answer is yes, I have a job. (This is not bragging, I am sure people my age on here have better jobs, I am merely proving I have a job.)

I did hear that’s midget tanning is really booming right now. But what would Rob know about that?

P….You post on D3swimming probably 8-10 times a day, that mean you look at all the post, formulate what you are going to write, and then post, which all takes time. I don’t care what company you work for I hope you’re not paid on efficiency.

where is the relay meet? Who are the teams that are invited?

You’d be amazed at what K can teach it’s students about efficiency. Plus, i was previously in sales, which isn’t doing much and i could go online while working on other things, multitasking is a beautiful thing. Right now i am doing trainings, so between those i can log on and check. Formulating usually doesn’t take much with the crap i post.

It’s an All-MIAA Relay Meet (formulated from the NCAC Relay Meet) and it will be held at Jenison. I don’t mind the idea and think Jenison is the best place to have it, since MIAAs will be held there in February.

dude, silentp barely works…..the kid is on vacation 1 week of every month

the relay meet will be interesting but unfortunately nobody will be in great form for it so who the hell knows what will happen (by great form i don’t mean that people won’t be in great shape, but instead that they won’t be in top racing form).

I see it being funny if kzoo led off the backstroke relay with ellis and the breaststroke relay with fonzi, just to see if they could hold on for the win. although they’d have a better chance at the breaststroke relay with kovacs, fenwick and booms around.

it’s a relay meet…..man i’m not a big fan of relay meets but there’s not too much pressure, so hopefully the kids will have fun

Sounds like a fun meet. Wish we had it a few years ago. I imagine most of the regular relays will play out like at the MIAA meet and that the stroke relays will be spread out amongst the Big 3 with apologies to Calvin and Albion who don’t really have any stroke depth. The big question is, will they have a 4×100 IM relay like in HS? Because that would be rad. But does this meet really merit a prediction thread? Is work really that boring today?

      Also,

Not really fair. When I think of tanning I think of Lanser. It’s just a matter of Quality over Quantity.

No, it doesn’t, but yes, it is that boring of a day.

Lanser is a great example of Quantity over Quality for tanning and butter consumption.

No, he definitely would only consume the most quality of butter available. He was a Quality AND Quantity kind of guy when it came to butter.

SilentP. I have to ask, why would you bother to respond? WHo cares how much time you spend or don’t spend on this forum. You do not have to defend yourself everytime somenone slings a meaningless attack. Go read Hamlet, you’ll see what I mean.

For getting a promotion or whatever the hell (I didn’t read your post, it was too long) you aren’t very smart.

Bakc to the point, can’t we talk the relay meet over Silentp’s lame job/life?

Please stop trying to drag each other down. Congratulations to silentp for his promotion and congratulations to stiles for not working at a midget tanning salon. And of course to Lanser for being the subject of conversation, not for his swimming, but for his tanning and butter consumption.

      How about that relay meet?

I’m not happy with it because it is the same weekend as homecoming, so if I come all the way back from NYC I have to leave campus for a relay meet.

Derek, you don’t have to leave campus if you don’t want. You only have to leave campus if you want to see the relay meet.

I am not sure how fun this is going to be to watch. Swimming in relay meets are always really fun, but with the still small size of the K team and not having a group of very well rounded swimmers (more specialists), i don’t see them fairing all that well. Hope should dominate, but Olivet could give them a run. Calvin will likely be beat by K because of their lack of strokers. We will all find out what Albion has and see if they can still challenge K at MIAAs or if that is out of the question.

It is also very early in the season, so like when K dueled ND early in the season, it will boil down to who has either the most natural talent or who swam over the summer.

I think this relay meet sounds like a blast. I remember a long time ago in High School, I swam on some fun relays in a meet somewhat like this.

There is always the option for an after the meet brawl in the parking lot, or New Holland Restaurant and Pub, or even Parrots Lounge in wonderful downtown Holland. I could think of some wonderful Alumni Relays that could happen at these fine establishments. Just putting it out there, I know a guy that could make some arrangements if people are interested.

Now, it’s not often that the Dirty Bird is referred to as a ‘Lounge,’ you may not want to raise the expectations of some of out of town, more dignified guests. But please, feel free to play quarters or Anchorman while enjoying your pitcher.

If it were up to me, all the same, I would reccommend Skiles Tavern. The pizza there is extraordinary yes, it’s the Natty Light on draft that puts Skiles over the top for this cat.

Is the Parrots Lounge the joint that has PBR on tap? That place is a real dive, meaning it fits most of us perfectly.

I’ve been there a few times. Yes, it’s a total dive. It’s perfect.
