Membersome of my thoughts
-looks like ellis won’t be swimming the 100 free, which is a smart choice in my mind.
-the psyche sheet just reminded me of how open the 2 or 3 through 12 places are going to be
-also it’s good to see that bacon won’t be trying the 100fly, 200free insane double on friday.

Trousers Ron
MemberHey there everybody….it’s me….Trousers Ron!
Surely someone has a psyche sheet they can share. Thanks for your two cents Maverick, the picture is taking shape.
But I’ve got a few questions:
1. Paul Ellis, 3 event entries or 4?
2. Kyle Waterstone, 3 event entries or 4?
3. Nate Busscher 3 event entries or 4?Nothin quite like a fine pair of Trousers!

MemberWell, the deadline for the meet is Wednesday at 5 PM, so those swimmers like Heyboer, Ellis, etc. can talk over what events they are going to swim, but can only swim 3 indi’s at the meet.

MemberWOW, thank you captain obvious. You don’t really think that he thought they would be entered in and actually swim 4 events, do you? Or.. do you? Wow.
Heyboer should go the mile, even if he can’t beat Krone, Hope would still final 4+ guys in the 2 back without him and he’ll finish no worse than second.

That’s the K thing to do, not Hope.

MemberIt seems like it is next to impossible to score ou tthe meet with olivet not having tapered times. THis would have an impact anyway but having to completey judge how oc will taper on top of figuring out placing makes things very difficult.
That being said, a Hope victory is possible especially if Kzoo and Cal swim well. Two people absent from the pysche sheets are Lucas Seebeck and John Toll from the Knights. Those are depth guys that are going to crush Calvin’s chance to make a run at K.
Good to see Ellis isn’t swimming the 100, that would be a waste imho. I will be interested to see what he does. He is entered in some tough events. If he swims the 50, you have to deal with possiblty that he coudl get 1st as easily as he could get 8th. This is true for the 1fly as well, but it looks like he is better at the 1 fly than the 50. The backstrokes he should do well in.
Also, koji is enter in the fly events, the 2im and the 2 back. Not sure where they are going on that one. The breast events are the weakest events in the league.
We better get the phony scoring in over the next couple days.

MemberI was swearing at Dave Stubbs last night when i was trying to score the meet. Why doesn’t he taper mideason? It would have made my job a whole lot easier.
I would also like to congratulate Kzoo. When scoring the psyche sheet they do in fact get second place!
Hope wins…IMO

MemberCheadle…heyboer is entered in both the 500 and the 200IM. In my opinion and in my gut i think he will be swimming the 500 against Krone becasue of hope’s strength in the IM. But I have no concrete answer on what he is actually swimming.

MemberIs heyboer entered in the Mile and not the 200 back? Strange. He does have a B cut in the 200 back, right? Well it shouldn’t matter actually.
Also, is Heyboer a lock on Hope’s 800 FR? I would assume so…

K-415Hope beats Kzoo by 117? No sense bickering about it, how about putting the spread at 99.5 and staking a $10 donation to this website.

All the Hope guys who say it won’t be even close back down when money is involved, even if it is for a good cause. I guess they are not that confident afterall (yes, that is bating).

MemberI would be more inclined if the bet was more significant. Betting on whether or not Hope beats K by more of less than 99.5 points is irrelavent. The point is Hope beats K. I hope K does really well. There strong events are also Olivet’s strong events and it will help Hope win the meet.

MemberI am willing to fall for your bating as long as you are willing to lower the over-under by a significant amount. I mean geeze, you had hope beating calvin by what, 50? Make the spread 78.5 and I am in. And yes that is negotiating….

MemberThis is settled. IT does not really matter who is taking who the bottom line is:
Cheadle, Duck and Mav each put up $10
Screw, Lenny and Tim each put $10.
The line is 78.5
I actually don’t like this line, but was planning on donating anyhow, so might as well take the chance to double the donation!

Memberyeah wow, thought i was going to have to take on two of you…..
Cheadle, why don’t you like this line? You had Kzoo only losing by 56. I don’t know who had them at 117 but I had it somewhere around 93 so I figured 78 was a fair compromise……..
Anyway, I’m glad we get to have some fun with this and I’m glad d3 can benefit from it all.
Tbone, sorry if you have to pony up 10 bucks but its for a god cause

Member1) Relays were not included in my scoring and Hope out score Kzoo by 18 pts there
2) In my very uninformed opinion Kathy made a mistake by exhibitioning her diver (6 pts there). That adds 24 points to hope from my individual point scoring which was 58 meaning a total spread of 82 points. I guess Kzoo has to out-perform my predictions. Oh well, it just makes it more exciting!

MemberBack to the psyche sheets, here are a few thoughts:
Diving:
Only 8 guys going for points in the diving events this year. Has there been an event in the last 15-20 years of the MIAA with less entries?KZoo Diving:
(As Cheadle mentioned above while I was typing this long thing) Why would K-Zoo have there diver, Ezra Kaplan, competing exhibition and what happened to Wolfson? Maybe they didn’t know that Oddo, Valbracht, DeBoer, and Meengs would not be in the meet. Even with those guys, I think Kaplan could have outscored a few of the K-Zoo swimmers. Without them he was probably good for at least 14 points.Hope Tactics:
It looks like Hope is posting an interesting tactical lineup. I’m sure it was hard to exhibition guys like O’Brien and Glas, but that may open up space in the 200 free for Ray, or Richardson to score a few points in a third event. I also noticed that most of the Hope guys are entered into four events. That wouldn’t be such a big deal, except almost all the Olivet swimmers are entered into three. Hope may be able to use that flexibility and knowledge to there advantage. I am a little surprised that either Tozer or Smith are not swimming for points in the breaststroke events but they probably know something that I don’t.Breaststroke weakness:
I had a whole paragraph on being shocked at how weak breaststroke is this year… Then I looked at last years results and deleted it.Calvin Breaststroke:
It looks like Stiles already mentioned this, but with Lucas Seebeck missing I would say Calvin can safely focus on the free relays.Exhibition Swimmers:
I noticed Hope has something like 10 spots where an exhibition swimmer is listed in the top twelve. If rosters where expanded to 24, Hope would definitely have a better shot this year. On the other hand, if rosters where shrunk to 12, KZoo might be the favorite. (Those are just random observations, no point is intended) I believe K-Zoo’s diver is the only other participant on the men’s side competing exhibition and seeded to score points. When does the final lineup come out and get posted?
