MemberWith all but a couple of meets left – I thought it might be fun to see how closely we could predict the cut off time for selection next week in the individual events. Anyone interested?
Rules – you must predict down to the Hundreth for all events 100 and under and to the 10th for the 200’s and longer…. anything else I am missing?

MemberIf that is the selection time in the 200 back we are looking at an entire second slower than last year. That is fairly remarkable.

MemberYeah I realize that, but I guess I just thought with a bunch of new guys like Thomas, Ellis, and Heyboer the 200 would be fairly similar

My Spoons Too Big
MemberI’d guess again. 17 guys are 1:54.5 or faster right now. That means only two or three guys this weekend can go faster than that if that is going to be the invite time. I’m not incredibly familiar with NESCAC and the NY conference this year, but chances are there will be more than three swimmers going faster than that.
I’ll go with Lucien Moss’s 1:54.35 to be the last. I know, a big difference, huh.

Memberim not so sure 3 people will beat 154.5. Woods is already at 154.2. McManic will be in there with his 151 last year and Millen will probably get in. But, will Millen swim this over the 2fly?? i no nothing about the NY conference. im sticking with 154.5

MemberMy guess will be two guys from the NESCAC Conference – Mcmanic, and millan, and then one at least from NEWMAC- Craig Edwards, and perhaps one from the NY conference so I am going to go with 154.2

Member1:54.2 wow that just seems so slow, but I have not really been keeping an eye on this event, so most of you would know more about it then me.

Anyone notice 8 of the top 16 and 5 of the top 8 coming into the meet this year are seniors? The cut-off time to make the meet was right around where it always is, but the top-end depth is really dying off. Where will this event be next year?

MemberWell I think the event is safe with the likes of Thomas and a couple of others. I have a feeling he will be in the 1:49 range at ncaa’s this year. We have graduated a lot of great 200 backstrokers over the past 3 years though
