Pankratov now there is a name I have not heard in awhile. IS it me or did it look like he was always sculling with his hands during his underwaters?

Is it illegal? I know it is way off thread topic, but I tought it was the thing to do back when swimming fly underwater all the way was the thing to do.

I split this thread because these posts are not really about towing swimmers and deserve their own thread.

Eddie Reese talked about this on Deck Pass during the March 19th episode. He said that it was illegal because Pankratov’s hands would separate and come back together, and you must recover over the water in butterfly. So essentially he was taking strokes but not recovering over the water. Reese also said that it’s much faster to dolphin kick in a streamlined position and that Pankratov wouldn’t be able to keep up with the best kickers today.
