Apropos of nothing: one off-season news item for each member school, some slightly older than others. Feel free to add more.

Bethany: Ben Brownlee will be the new and only intern in the conference office as of a week from Monday. (The fact that he already graduated is irrelevant.) Nice to see Joe Onderko pick a swimmer. Swimming has gotten decent notice from him in the past, and it looks that will carry on.

Grove City: Joel Boerckel made it on to the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot by getting voted 1st-team Academic All-District in District II.

W&J: Kaitlyn Orstein, as noted on the main page of this site, is in Sydney for her first international competition. She will be bringing home two gold medals for (surprise) the 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Westminster: The men’s swim team cleaned up (and the women won mention as well) at the 3rd annual WESPY awards (anyone wonder where they came up with the name?) Most notably, Ryan Trunk won the WESPY for outstanding performance by a male athlete, meaning he is still the only person to ever win that award.
