MemberEric Dunn- 4:30 in the 500, 15:29 in the mile
the rest of the team also looked rested, but very tough. It should start getting interesting.

I agree, also a 2:04 by the Freshman sensation on the women’s side, very impressive. I don’t think they tapered, but cannot believe they did not rest. The reason i believe this is the vast improvements across the enture team that was had. It doesn’t really matter either way because they had very fast times that will already be making noise for March.

MemberKenyon’s mens distance squad looks incredible. Knowing how much they improve at NCAA’s over fall swims… well, yeah, they look really scary. Better than last year I would say. Looks like Tom Ingrims (?) will do okay in the backstroke as well.

MemberIt was Tom Irgens and that 200 back was a personal best and his 100 back was just .04 off his personal best.
As noted above Tina Ertels 2:04.28 200 IM for the Ladies was quite a swim and is just .03 off the Kenyon record and not far off Payne’s national record from last year.

MemberYeah Kenyon has a few guys that can cover 500 yards pretty quickly. Rantz is a total stud and he is rarely talked about. WHat did he go last year at nats like 4:32 and 15:50 or so. Dunn’s 500 was right where he was at nationals last year. I would expect probably 4:25 out of him this year and if that is the case will he be about 15:15 in the mile?

i wouldnt say that they are rested, but if they will be tapering for december, they’ve probably started to come down. its only a couple weeks away.

The mid-season taper meet will be the Nike Cup and starts a week from Thursday. This year, Kenyon elected not to travel to Miami and is hosting JHU, Washington and Lee, Univ of Penn and Univ of Kansas at the new KAC.
At the same time, Emory and Denison will be “just down the road” at Miami for their mid-season taper meet.
This will provide the first “apple to apple” comparisons of Emory, Kenyon, Denison and JHU.

MemberYeah and if I remember correctly Denision swam out of their minds at this meet last year. It should be interesting to see. I am going to go out and predict 1:39 low out of Peterson in the 200, he was 1:39 high last year at this time, and depending on if he swims the mile I could really see something in this range.
