MemberGustavus 800 FR takes down the Olaf record from the 80’s, very impressive. Congrats!

MemberDo you want us to post all the new Conference records? Or just the ones Gustavus took from Olaf?

What other records were broken where it wasn’t just someone breaking their own record? Also, were any other records that have stood since the 80’s broken? I didn’t see any.
Settle down and don’t get so upset. Just because Olaf won’t be even close to beating GAC at Nationals (with a DQ’d relay) doesn’t mean you have to get angry about this too.

MemberOh, I was just thinking…Matt’s 200 Freestyle record, maybe? Cause he got that, but you forgot to point it out. No, I’m not mad. And yeah, Olaf did break a bunch of their own records. I’m not going to post those, because as a swimmer whose career is over it doesn’t mean the world to me. I guess this’ll be the third year in a row that beating the other team at Conference means they beat you at Nationals. I can live with that.

MemberSo now you can’t even congratulate someone on breaking a record that has stood for 20 years without being called out? I would congratulate Westby on tying Max Harper’s 100BR record, but I don’t want to insult anyone from Carleton.

MemberYou got me. I’m just trying to rile SilentP, cause I’m a dick like that. Way to go, Gustavus. But honestly, and all ridicule and team affiliation aside, there were other conference records.

MemberYou’re right, several records were broken, so tomorrow we’ll start a thread where we point out all of the records that were broken this weekend, then we’ll appoint a multi-school panel of non-swimmers to compliment all of the swimmers who broke those records. Finally, we’ll have the moderators ensure that there are an equal number of posts per record so it doesn’t seem like St. Olaf or GAC is receiving unfair recognition, or excess attention, for their accomplishments.
I nominate Chapel Partner to organize this entire process.

If i had known about these records i very well could have posted them, or if it bothered you, you could have, but you didn’t. All i knew is that this record has stood for something like 20 years and to me, that is amazing.
I realize you think i am biased, but today, after the Open MIAA record was broke in the 1650, i posted it in the MIAA forum, despite the record formerly being held by at Kalamazoo swimmer. Congrats to all new record holders, whoever you are.

I wish Mac of the MIAC would post again… I think he could tastefully solve this disagreement.
I only follow records that pertain to Matt Zelen or Sky-Dave.
Big ups to the Dave (work-shopping a new nickname) for nearly taking down Casson’s record in the mile.
Note: I think GAC’s 400 FR is now 4th all-time for D3, and the Olaf’s 200 MR is 5th.
