On Sunday NESCAC swimmers Brittany Sasser and Marika Ross set conference records in their swims at NESCAC championships in the 200 back [1:58.79] and 200 fly [2:01.25]

Sasser’s time of 1:58.79 is also a national record – – breaking her existing record by over a second. Will she go even faster at Houston?

Ross will battle a group of talented 200 fly’ers at Nationals. The 2:00 mark will be broken, for sure, in Houston.

I think yes on both counts…Sasser will swim faster at Nationals she always is UP for competition and we’ll see a sub 2:00 in the 200 fly.

Last Saturday, Amanda Nicholson swam a very fast 4:27.23 in the 400 IM to capture the #1 spot on the “top times” list. Nicholson should drop 3-4 seconds at Nationals, setting up an interesting battle with Kaitlyn Orstein. Petrock’s national record 4:23.30 may be in jeopardy.

I have said this already about a thousand times, but the top end talent and depth in the womens meet is better than ever. We should see a whole bunch of records broken. I can still remember when Carroll was the nationl record holder in the 200 back at 2:01, now look at it. Just amazing.
