As much as I appreciate the humor surrounding this new topic, I really doubt that Nelson drops much more time coming into the Conference meet. He’s all ready posting some of the fastest times in the nation and because of that I doubt that he’ll be fully rested and/or shaved at the U in a few days. He focuses on Natty’s in my mind, and will probably swim slower than his seeds at Conference if his goal is to win National’s. At best, I put him on a 2 – 5 day taper with a full shave.

I would tend to agree with Kari, but the lingering question in my mind about the team title. Sure, Nelson is going to nationals, but how is Hauck going to look at the team race with Gustavus if Nelson isn’t beating Gusties left and right… just a thought.

Look at past year’s results. GAC wins conference over, Olaf dominates them at Natty’s. The way I’ve got it figured the Haucks will take the team title if they can get it, but they’re gunning for NCAAs. This puts Westby, Kukla, Wareham, and a few other of their top swimmers on a drop taper and maybe a shave for conference.

      Prelims…

      Westby 1:52.52
      Marschall 1:51.45

Anyone at the meet? Is Westby tapered, or did he just take it easy the last 50 since he was up by 6 seconds?

      Tonights race should be awesome.

Yeah that is going to be one helluva race. Westby is capable of coming home in 25 high on the end of that race. I look for 1:51 low out of him, and who knows what Ted will do. That could be the race of the meet so far
