We receive a lot of spam, so sometimes it is hard to make sure that we let through the legitimate users and delete the spammers. Here are some tips to getting through:
1) Don’t put a website on your profile when you sign up. Nearly 100% of spammers do this, so it makes it easy to spot them on our list of hundreds of new accounts. We might accidentally delete you if you include a website.
2) Use an easily identifiable email address. .edu, google.com, yourcompany.com, etc. are all easier to identify as real email addresses.
3) This goes without saying, but make a user name that has some relevance. Irrelevant user names with random letters and numbers are often spammers.
4) OPTIONAL: Send Derek an email from the same email account you used to set up your user name and tell him the your new user name. derek*at*d3swimming.com
