Mike, are we still driving up on Friday afternoon? My flight from Toronto is scheduled to land at 9am Central Time.

MemberRumor has it that one of history’s all-time great raconteurs will be making an appearance. Maybe we can get him to retell the Legend of K-Bastard?
BTW, I did the imageshack thing to bring back my original avatar…how do I get rid of that stupid black band on the bottom?

MemberMilhouse, I’m not sure what you did, but I had to delete your avatar. Next time check the button “remove size/resolution bar from thumbnail?” and then make sure you get just the image URL (“Direct link to image”) from the bottom box.

Yes, but you can’t ask him that, because he doesn’t remember telling it. He was puking on the porch for a half an hour or so before telling the tale. He sat during the entire story and the pauses were very long. It was hilarious. I think Turtle also had to remind him where he was in the story several times because he kept whispering in his ear.

MemberThat sounds about right. Aaron left out some parts of the story (Freddie Krueger, and the new addendum about what is really in K Bastard’s head), but he gave it the old college try before ultimately dying. BTW, he slept on Elston’s bathroom floor just so he could be near a toilet. It made pooping really awkward.

MemberThe freshmen did as well as they could… it’s the upperclassmen I have to take umbrage with.
The freshman were mostly unprepared and their knowledge of K swimming history was decidedly lacking. You need to place the fear of God into them to study that record board as well as k-swimming.net and miaa.org — It will be on the test!
That is all.
PS… I had a great time ๐

MemberI can’t remember who I asked, but he never answered the question of how old he was when Robbins became the 3rd swimmer in D3 history to go under 49 in the fly. But overall a good bunch of kids, even the diver ๐
I thought I had committed a faux paus when I said K-Bastard’s mom was the 100 fly record holder for the women, but the k-swimming website apparently proves me right. By the way, can someone link this page to Juliet’s alumni profile? That would be awesome.

MemberDangit!
Anyway, I thought I should point out a discrepancy between the women’s record board and the women’s top 12 swims list on k-swimming.net. It seems the swimmer currently listed as the record holder in the 100 fly hasn’t quite actually bested the fastest time on the top 12 list. So if poor Maegan is strutting around campus thinking she’s the record holder, it would be nice if she could get around to shaving another .09 seconds off her time, and then resume strutting.
Anyway, happy recruiting!

Memberit’s interesting to look at this issue that milhouse ran into:
from kzoo.edu/sports the 100fly women’s record is:
100 Butterfly :59.68 Katy Knoechel 2007from k-swimming.net the 100fly women’s record is:
100 Butterfly Maegan Connochie 59.64 2007from k-swimming.net the 100fly number 1 of the top 12 swims is:
1. Juliet Rivera (1997) 59.56 1998I wonder if this has been brought up at all to coach kathy?[/u]

Does Kathy care about the websites?

MemberYeah, they couldn’t find any record (outside of the website) that verified Rivera’s record of 59.56 (it had been 59.96 for a while). At least, that’s what Kathy told me.
As for the other discrepancies, I’m working to fix some of the top times, but I’m having some issues entering them.. I’ll try talking to miller or elston sometime.

MemberTo add to the mystery of Ms. Rivera, I notice she is listed as a 1997 K Alumnus but yet is a member of the 1998 All MIAA team and placed 16th in the 50 free at nationals according to the MIAA website.

MemberJuliet was a super-senior — came in with the class of ’97 but stayed an extra year to graduate with the class of ’98.
I’m pretty sure Juliet never went faster than a 59.96 — I think she just beat Mungall’s (aka: tear drop) record.
