Membersomething to think about…Gac’s 7th 500 fr Wes Jones was a 5:08. there’s depth, then there’s depth like that at 1 event.

MemberSome things I noticed:
Looks like FY diving sensation Mark Larson finally has a 3m list.
Gustavus has depth in the distance events that is almost unheard of, but is still searching for their sprinters with nobody cracking 22 pt yet.
St. John’s looks like they’re hurting for standout swimmers swimmers across the board. Where’s this recruit class you boasted about, Mac?
Who the heck are Cameron Webb (200 Free) and Michael Pettengill (100 Breast) from Luther? He’s got a great early season 200 time:
1 Webb, Cameron JR Luth 1:44.96 20
24.76 27.21 26.60 26.391 Pettengill, Michae SO Luth 59.29 20

Apparnetly some parent boards don’t agree. sorry, low blow. I hope you install that same ego in your 8&U’s. 😉

MemberWow, Monti, low blow. I’m at a loss for words. Apparently coaching awards and numbers of 13 year-old girls that go 1:54 or faster in the 200 free hold no more weight than making sure that the mediocre talent of the offspring of the Board are placed on the “A” relay. It’s cool though, I know you’re joking and I concede your point. Good one my friend, very nice indeed.

speaking of those 13 year old girls….they did well at the State Meet. Maple Gove won the meet. you coached them well.
As for Luther, they are somewhat like a young Carthage; always with 2 or 3 quick guys but no depth behind them and unable to bring in more to get to the next level.

MemberI think Sky-Dave might have just made the 800 Free Relay with his 200 time.
I know he was left off the relay last year, much to Mac’s disappointment… which resulted in multiple phone calls to Assistant to the Head Coach Hagen during the meet. But this year you could be looking at 2 Davis bros on the 800 FR.
That is unless Sky-Dave gets an A-Cut, and Head Coach Carlson wants to get an extra guy to nats by qualifying that relay.
But an 800 of Hanson, Stewart, and the Daves would be pretty sweet.
I think it will ultimately come down to who is having a better meet between the Daves and Cuevas. And who has qualified for nationals at that point in the meet.
Either way, I think the 800 FR record (they set last year) will go down with the current roster of guys as long as Stewart is still on it.

The problem is that Cuevas will need to get a B cut, whether that be in the 200 free, 200 fly, or whatever, to make it matter. There is no reason to take another swimmer unless they are either
a) better for the relay
or
b) have a b cut and could get an extra swim. -

Now there’s a statement with some snap and sizzle to it! If this forum were animated like a Batman and Robin comic, you could go ahead and insert the “KAPOW!!” bubble right about now.
As far knowing how to swim fast, he did finish 6th last year at MIACs:
6 Cuevas, Billy SO Gac 1:45.42 1:45.29 13
24.29 50.54 (26.25) 1:17.64 (27.10) 1:45.29 (27.65)While 1:45 may not make you king in D1, at the Conference level it’s a fine time.

MemberI think Cuevas was like a half second off of a B cut last year in his 200 Fly. The 200 fly comes after the 800 Free though, so who knows if that is a factor in who Head Coach Carlson chooses to swim.
Either way, I think the 800 makes nats for sure. As for the other relays, it will be close. I think they all can make B-cuts, but I don’t know enough about relay times to know who is likely to get in. Like could the 200 Med get in with a 1:34.5? I really have no clue on this.

Did Duck remove it, Rustie, or someone else? Why are the moderaters allowed to call me a name yet I am only critical and get censored?

The 2nd time I felt something needed to be done I brought it to the attention of the higher ups and let them decide. This time I didn’t do a darn thing and it still got removed. The only people that could remove your post are myself, Duck, Derek, Vic, and silentp. So it was one of them. Unless we’ve got a new, super-smart hacker who’s hacked the forum…

Space Operas Rule!!!!I deleted it and will continue to delete any personal attacks on current swimmers. Some of the things said on these forums can greatly offend certain groups and get lawyers involved, as they have with the MIAC forum in the past. While you post didn’t go anywhere near this, I’d rather not move towards that direction again.

I say a swimmer needs to either grow a few inches or grow a pair in order to get their B cut and it warrants deleting because it “offends certain groups”? I was responding to your point. Also, why did you change my quote? It mysteriously now says Space Opera’s rule now.

I’m sorry, but to borrow from another apparent victim of this fad (in a non-MIAC forum), “this is crap, complete crap.” Who hires lawyers to go after an online message board where no one’s good name is ever in any real danger of being tarnished? Who is so scared and afraid (and arrogant) that they call in the cavalry to banish an off-hand remark that was probably made as a joke? If they’re going to object, surely they can have the (wo)manliness to do it in person first, without hiding behind other people and making them do the dirty work.
This is not intended as a slam at all against the administration of this site, but rather against whoever the idiot is that brought us to this point.
As for the actions of the administrative team, I would ask only that they notify the moderator(s) of the respective board whenever they decide to executively execute a post. It’s a little disconcerting to get howled at for something that you don’t even know has happened.

I would hardly call it imfamous. It may be the best moment of your online life, but you won’t see Mac of the MIAC handing out autoagraphed copies of our little tiff at a swim meet.
My problem with you, RG, as a moderator, is that you don’t know the difference between me poking fun of an anonymous user, and someone slandering a real swimmer. Mac of the MIAC does a lot of the former, and none of the latter. Also, you take things WAY too personally. You’ve posted twice today about our “battle”. Move on, dude. If being a moderator were a profession, you’d be very unprofessional.
