MemberTeam Competition
Given Kenyon commanding lead in the race for the team championship today will be more interesting in terms of changes in places 2 through 5. Can Emory swim better today or will they drop futher down the list? Will the race come down to Amherst vs Calvin? On paper, looks like Denison could move up possibly to third….
Swimmer of the Meet
Right now, looks like a contest between Sasser and Ornstein. A second title and national record for Ornstein in the 400 IM might give her the edge…Sasser can hang in there with another 100 back title and new national record.
Race of the Day
Will it be the 100 fly or 200 free?
Relays
Can Kenyon sweep them? Will they win without Ertel in the 800 free? Can they break both national records today?

MemberThe results show Emory DQ’d in the 200 MR, but don’t show why. I don’t know what happened.

MemberCongratulations to Sasser. Did anyone else notice that the two top seeds in the breaststroke have to swim off to make it in to the final heat? That could potentially be a very fast swim-off!

Anyone notice that said swimmer from Calvin has not been on a single medley relay yet? This cost them a top 8 swim yesterday.

MemberMaybe she didn’t swim the breast stroke in the medleys bc they need her on the free relays and prehaps she was gonna swim the medley tonight in finals. If so that sure hurt their 200 medley chances for sure. She was on the 200 free final that placed second last night and she swam in finals in the 50 free

Could also be, and this is pure speculation since I have no facts here, that she is nursing a breaststroke type injury, e.g. groin, and they are trying to avoid aggravation. Those type of injuries are tough racing breaststroke but are not really aggravated by free.
If so then the swim-off is going to be hard….but it might help Connors…she’s the type to get up for that kind of swim and does just fine racing “tired.”

MemberConnors wins swim-off with 1:05.05, coming from behind….White swims a little slower 1:05.62 and slips into consols.

no, the DQ always appears next to the freestylers name b/c they dont list the final time. this comes up everytime. they dont list it b/c they dont want to single out the swimmer in the results.
