MemberI scored out Saturday pulling times from last year, this year, and making some guesses. When I added it all up this is what I have going into the 400 Free Relay:
Hope 495.5
Olivet 495Keys:
200 Back, Hope could get 4 of the top 6, but Olivet might crash the party.
200 Fly, Olivet needs to bounce back from the 100 fly to score big points and take at least an 8.5 point lead going into the relay.
200 breast, King doesn’t need to make the top six, but it would certainly help Hope.
100 free, I don’t think Hope needs more then two guys in the top six, but it would be nice to have more. I count at least 10 guys who could make the top six.One big unknown is Holtman who had an incredible 400 IM and could make some noise in the 1650, and 200 breast (or 200 back?)
Good luck to the Alumni. Remember, a good warmup is the key to keeping your lunch down.
PS I scored Friday out before prelims using similar assumptions. Hope ended up 12 points better then I predicted while Olivet was 17 points worse.

MemberOlivet snuck 2 (Voss and Powers) into the big boy heat of the 100 free, that really hurts Hope.
It should be very exciting tonight.
Hope women TT’d the 2MR, 1:48.6
Hope men TT’d the 2MR, 1:35.0I don’t see the women’s time going and for sure not the men.

MemberIs there anyone out there who knows how the 1650 shapes up? Without the 1650, I project the meet winner to be Hope by 15.5 points (based on prelims this am, and predicting Hope-Olivet go 1-3 in the relay). But of course, this means nothing without that vital piece of 1650 information…..

The 1650 is tough to predict, but I gave it a shot last night.
Olivet:
Jaffee, B 2nd
Wheatley 6th
Jaffe, S 7th
(Busscher, Burchfield are scratches I believe)Hope:
Richardson 3rd
Ray 9thThat puts the event at Olivet 29 and Hope 16.
Final result with your projections and my 1650:
Hope by 2.5 -

MemberThings may change during the course of finals tonight (Hopesters, the Kzoo breaststrokers would appreciate your rabid support), but I think it’s going to come down to Hope vs Calvin in the 400 free relay….

MemberUnofficial 1650 results are in:
Hope 21
Olivet 30
Ray made the biggest differnce for Hope. That expands the projected Hope final margin to 5.5 if everything stayed the same from prelims and the relay comes out Hope 1, Calvin 2, Olivet 3.
The best chance for Olivet to make there move will be the 200 back and 100 free.
