MemberI couldn’t find the big guy in the Carthage Psyc-Sheets. I also noticed that he didn’t swim at the U of M.
Anyone one knows what is going on? -

Maybe that was part of the confusion, he did swim at Minnesota. I don’t know why he isn’t swimming this meet though, perhaps an academic or post-college commitment of some sort. Or maybe it’s a mistake and he will be entered by the start of the meet on Friday.

Silentp,
How is that you are so well informed about the every happening of the Gustie swimmers? If you were an alum it would be one thing, but you didn’t even goto school there! You must have a good inside contact (Sister, I think?) of some sort to get that level of detail.
It’s too bad that Hagemeyer has to sit out Carthage for the GRE. Unless they’ve changed things, he must be taking a subject test instead of the general one. If it’s the Physics GRE, I can all most guarantee he’d rather be at Carthage than at that test. Also if I’m not mistaken, he’s swam quite well at that meet in his career. Didn’t Gustavus win the meet last year by 0.5 points after he came from behind on the last relay to win it? Split a 44 something? Maybe I’m imagining things, that does happen from time to time.
As silentp said, good luck!

The meet is a little faster than it has been in past years, but nothing that isn’t to be expected. The trend these days with everything is faster and more efficient, I guess the sport of swimming is just starting to catch up.
One thing I did notice while perusing the heat sheets: A fair amount of relay and individual records come from the MIAC powerhouses of Olaf and Gustavus. I was surprised to see so many records coming from the MIAC when the CCIW meet is held at Carthage. I would think that at that caliber of meet you could produce better swims than we’ll get mid-season.

I find it hard to believe that Olaf would taper only Westby when, in the past, they’ve done a full shave and taper for Carthage. My prediction is that the Oles are fully shaved and tapered, and swimming lights out. Look for some huge times out of their studs (Westby, Wareham, Kukla, Anderson, Koch, etc) and also for them to be pushed by the less rested Gusties. If Carlson does what he’s done in past seasons, the GAC squad will be on a 3-day drop taper, which could allow their studs (Hanson, Amundson, Davis, Stewart, etc) to be very competitive. In close races, look for the Oles to upset.
Does anyone know if they’re doing live timing for the meet? Or maybe live-updating of the website once an even is finished?

I’ve been checking the site every-so-often since 9, when prelims were supposed to begin, but have yet to see a result.
Anyone have another link or do I just need a little more patience?

I figured he would bust out something nuts like that. Are the rest of the Oles swimming as well as Westby? How about the Gusties, are they swimming well?
I wish someone from Carthage would read these posts and fix the “live” timing they have setup…..

Koch went a 46.25

Olaf went 3:26.50 in the 4Med Relay
2Back still isn’t working

Wow, impressive night on both sides. But I do have to say that the Oles are outperforming the Gusties right now. Koch’s 46.25 overtakes Hagemeyer’s pool record by a tenth. Too bad for the big guy, who couldn’t even defend it. Tomorrow should be exciting as well. I’m expecting more big things out of the MIAC teams.

Member15M mark, I think you are confusing pool records with meet records. The pool record for the 100 Free is a ridiculous 43.77 from some guy who swam for the Waukesha Express… which I believe to be some sort of hovercraft.
Did Westby even swim the IM? I didn’t see him on the results.
Yes, I am checking the results/this site after getting home from the bar.
I hate myself.
Did Michelson for GAC DQ in the 200 fly? He’s my sleeper on my fantasy team.
