MemberThis is a BS ranking. Just because SJU graduated all their relay guys doesn’t mean they have better recruits. I think you need to take relays out of the equation.

MemberI agree, but I still think they have the best class. Very deep. I’m mostly a fan of the Macalester draft, though. Go MAC!

MemberMac, assuming that you did this in Excel it should be fairly easy to remove the relay points and re-post the “rankings”. Is this something that you can get done? I would be interested in knowing where the teams stand sans relays. I would also like to know what place you gave each guy in what event with a team total at the bottom, should you have the time for such a task.

Member3rd, but only because they lost 3 solid seniors. I would love to see someone other than GAC/STO win conference. It will take another strong SJU class to get this done.
My count has 190 males swimmers in the MIAC. SJU has +35, which must be a record for them. GAC has 90 on the combined team. Is swimming becoming a popular sport, or are more kids who previously went d1 and didn’t swim, now considering d3 for athletics?

Where do you think they will finish in the conference?

I would imagine it’s a combination of both. At the D3 level there is a place for people of all abilities, so you get the additional draw of those who enjoy swimming laps but maybe aren’t going to be swimming in lane 4/5. Also, I would guess that being able to compete at the conference and/or national level as a freshman would have quite a bit more appeal to a HS senior than being a red shirt or not on the “travel team”.
