MemberThe first meet to start of the year for the MIAA is happening this weekend. What are thoughts of this years meet? Are Kzoo and Olivet going to play around like Hope did last year, or are they going out for blood again? Will we see some impressive times from the newbie’s? I for one am glad we finally have a meet, I am sure all of you know how hard it is to train without meets. It should be fun, and good luck to everyone.

MemberThere are 2 relays to look at because they actually matter going forward, the 200 MR and 200 FR, last year’s winning times were:
1:37.72 Kzoo
1:29.02 Olivet
Respectively.
I think Hope was faster in the 200 FR when you added their best times together, but regardless, are people taking the over or the under on the winning times in those events this year?

MemberBoth relays will be faster, significantly in fact.

MemberAll I have to say is that the 4 x 100 IM relay is the greatest relay ever created, and will be fun to watch

MemberSo I have the results from the meet for K-zoo, but not for anyone else. Does anyone (Lenny? Facenorth?) have the html file from Hy-tek, or the complete hy-tek output? If you do, please let me know.

Gunderson’s 50 frees (open and relay) win it hands down for me.

MemberFleming was good. Kzoo swam well, everyother team was pretty bad. It really really doesn’t matter though.
Where was the freshmen sprinter from Olivet (harden)? Also, contrary to what I was told, Bylina is swimming.

MemberSo every other team sucked. I feel if hope actually swam there best guys on the same relay there would have been closer races.

MemberApparently Harden has a broken arm – there were a couple of guys walking around with slings on their arms and/or casts.

MemberIt seems like there were a lot of DQs for it just being a “pre-season” relay meet. Were they actually using pads on the starting blocks, or were the officials just being harsh?

MemberNo pads, just harsh I guess, though my only 2 dq’s were both in the 4 im relay. I just had freestylers get a little to liberal with their stroke techniques, especially around the wall.

Not to start the Kzoo Love fest but come on 24.99 / 26.37 (which really aren’t that good for them but still) are the best swims of the meet by alot. Hope may not do that at league meet.

MemberNot that it matters at all but Ellis anchor’d the backstroke relay in 23.3. Of course it was from a dive, but still some good speed.
