Well we’ve posted about the 400 MR and the 200 FR, so lets try something new.

      Over/Under?

      K’s 200 MR Hope

      23.6 24.5
      25.2 26.8
      22.3 22.4
      20.8 20.6

      1:31.9 1:34.3

      400 FR K Hope 400 FR
      46.5 46.2
      46.0 45.8
      46.5 45.8
      46.8 45.1

      3:05.6 3:02.9

I’ll take a slight over on both of the medleys. I’ll take the under on Kzoo’s 4 free and a very slight over on the Hope 4 free.

I will take under on the k medley. Ellis has been faster not by much but a tenth faster in high school on the 50 back, and that was without the stand up start so that doesn’t have to be taken into account.

Nasty, for the Hope 400 FR, do you have Nelis on it? Even with him, I’m not sure they can have two 45.8 splits. What are Kurti’s and Chaz’s PR’s? I’ll take the over on that just because they have to bring it all together at once to go that fast. Also, I will push K’s 200 MR, as long as Fonzi is on it. I’ll take the slight under on Hope’s Medley and K’s 400 FR.

I was thinking Vogelzang instead of Kurti.

CVB has been 46.4 flat start.
I think Nelis will be on it, 45.8ish

I don’t think the K flyer will be faster then Nelis in the 2 MR. I think Kalamazoo goes about 1:32.3 and Hope is right at the 1:34 low mark. I think Kalamazoo’s 4 FR will be right at that 3:05.6, but I do not not think Hope goes 3:02 in that race.

I will push on both K’s 400 FR and Hope’s 200 MR. I will take the slight over on K’s 200 MR (only because I’d add up hundredths too, the splits look about right) and the under (by only a few tenths) on Hope’s 400 FR because I think Nelis and RVZ will both split faster. Also, swim5599, I do see K’s flyer being quicker in the 50 as he has been a few times. Nelis hasn’t proven to be a great 50 flyer yet and this is likely because he isn’t a true sprinter, just a great flyer.

i would take the over on the k 200 med (maybe by a tenth) and the hope 400 free relay based on the pool.

i’ll take the under on the other two relays, probably not by a lot, but i see hope’s 200 med at 1:34.0 and the k 400 free relay at 3:05.1 or so

Deal. My only provision is that Greiner is K’s flyer. This is the assumption, but if something happened where it was Dekker, I would feel less confident (only because Dekker isn’t as much of a sprinter). Greiner vs Nelis, 50 fly, it’s on.

That is fine I was assuming it would be Greiner but if its Dekker the bet is off.

This is an interesting bet. The smart money says Neils, but Greiner has already split a 22.3, faster than Neils PR. Very intersting…

It is a very interesting bet. Its amazing how having a great 100 fly doesn’t always mean a great 50, and vice versa (to a lesser extent).

Greiner is a 52mid flyer (faster at MIAA) Nelis is a 50.low is it humorous to anyone else that this seems like a very close race in the 50? Would nelis win it out right from a flat start? I don’t know who I would take in this one….

I think Ben Callam and Ryan Crowley (two sprinters) had 50 fly splits almost as fast, if not faster than mine (22.0)… and I had both of them beat by about 2 seconds in a 100 fly. It’s just tough for some people to sprint.

No idea if this applies to Nelis, but it certainly did for me.

I was more on the other end, 52.5 but my best was a 22.1. Wierd.

The 50 fly is a wierd race. At MIAA’s in 1998 Robbins outsplit shelley in the relay by only .3 or.4 seconds. In the open 100 fly Robbins beat Shelley by 4 seconds!
Anyhow I think Nelis’ best split is 22.6

So explain then why the smart money is on Nelis if his PR is 22.6 and Greiner’s PR is 22.3. That’s a considerable gap so shouldn’t the smart money be on Greiner? He also is a pure relay swimmer so he might be even faster at MIAA’s since he will step up for it as he did last year anchoring the medley.
