Redlands
Is anyone else surprised that Tyler Harp isn't even the fastest sprinter on his own team right now? I was expecting a little more right away - does he typically swim a little slow early in the season? Does he have really bad turns (which could partially explain the difference between the SCY and LCM times)? He was a 1:52 in the 200, 47.95 in the 100, 21.88 50 split and 56.99 fly. I can for give the 207 200 IM - maybe he's not good at anything but free, but the 51.5 in the 400 MR was way off where I thought it would be - and he was outsplit by fellow freshman Steve Zarian (49.64). His teammate, Miran Terzic (a first year foreign kid), was 47.71 in the 100 and 21.21 in the 50, so it's not like he doesn't have anyone to train with or race. Does he only swim fast when he has to? Is he injured?

Re: Redlands
He hasn't had to take any races really hard yet, and he actually negative split his 100 (24.0/23.9), which suggests that he probably could have gone a whole lot faster. I think he'll show up in February/March.
