I'd guess no, but it will be close.

I love this post more than anything else in the world right now.

Total: Kzoo +5.5 (again, from prelims only, not guynumberone's predictions).

After Day 1, Hope +41 (guynumberone predicted 54)

Me too, especially since my predictions get to be used as the norm, instead of the oft-more accurate Negrodamus.

well actually, guynumberone had an extra Hope guy in the 2IM (4th event). If you take him out and recount, then guys predicted a 37 point cushion for Hope after day 1. Hope needs to make up 24 points in three days, they made up 4 today.

Is Brock Jackson the most manly name in MIAA swimming history? The only one I can think of that even comes close is Josh Boss.

Per Milhouse's corrections, I now hate that post.

EDIT: I crunched the numbers (waiting for laundry to dry), and yes, guynumberone had Hope +37 vs. +41.

That correction doesn't change the fact that K picked up 5.5 points from Hope, prelims to finals. (So it could have been +46.5)

I don't follow what you are saying here. Does that mean K was down 4 points from guynumber1's predictions after prelims, but moved up 5.5 points from prelims to finals, net effect of Kzoo +1.5 from the predictions?

Hope was +9.5 after prelims, but Kzoo gained back 5.5 of those in finals, So hope is +4 right now over guynumberones predictions.

I don't normally follow much women's swimming (understatement), but I'd like to give a shoutout to the K women's 400 MR. Not only did they beat Hope in that relay, but also broke their own (suited) school record by 5 seconds. I assume this is an upset because I know Hope's women are typically very solid nationally.

Some fun facts from day 1 after quick looking over the original spreadsheet (which shouldn't be taken directly, since I added Ludema in 4 instead of three):

*I got the Kalamazoo score correct to the point (254).

*Correctly guessed 4 points between Calvin and Olivet (though both teams are 4+ up from where I had them)

*This isn't the correct way to account for it, but you take away the 13 points I predicted for Ludema's 200 IM...and I got Hope's score right on the nose (308 predicted minus 13 for Ludema's 200 IM = 295, their actual score).

More wrongs than rights on Day 1 (the 4th event's gonna come back to haunt my reputation in predicting the meet)...but I gotta say, those three are pretty cool. Hopefully my end prediction stands true.

SilentP: I don't know when the last time on a woman's relay ANYBODY out-split a Calvin freestyler, almost catching them from a body-length down on the last 25, so MAJOR props on Kalamazoo's medley, hope that B cut gets invited.

No chance... they are 7th right now with some heavy hitters still to swim, however, the 200 MR is their stronger distance, so it could bode well for their chances in that race.
