12-13 Men's Season

Post by pbrfriday » Thu Nov 01, 2012 11:03 am

I am pumped for this season as an alumni of the centennial conference. Just to see where this conference has come in the past 4-5 years has been amazing. This year looks to be one of the best ever, too ( I feel like we say that every year). Almost every team has added a "stud" swimmer to the conference in the freshmen class (Gburg's Gould, Swat's Davis, DSon's Hubbard, McDaniel's Brooks, Wash's Burcin). I love how the talent is getting spread out. Definitly going to be an exciting duel meet season capping off with an insane conference meet: there is already some awesome races getting set (500 free, 100 fly, 100 breast). My prediction: Gburg stays on top with the depth of their frosh/soph class followed by dickinson/swat for 2-3. I think most improved goes to Washington with their freshmen class on top of having the conferences defending 100 fly champ (look for a good medley relay). Looking forward to having some activity on this board all season long, I know there are a couple CC guys (and gals I'm sure, sorry I'm only commenting on guys right now, I will take a look at the girls soon) out there. What do you think?

Some times on the freshmen "studs." Just a few here there are many more good swimmers in this years freshmen class.

Gburg- Gould (21.7/47.2/1:43.8 Fly 52.1/1:56.5)
Swat- Davis (21.5/48.1 Br: 57.8/2:06.5 Fly 49.7)
McD- Brooks (1:43.1/4:37.5/9:32.8/15:53.0 4IM 4:06.8 )
Wash- Burcin (21.7 Br: 58.1/2:07.7)
Dson- Hubbard (47.9/1:42.3/4:37.4, 4IM 4:12)

Will be a fun, competitive season for all. Exciting to see Mcdaniel come out of nowhere with Brooks. I imagine he'll break the conference record in the 1000 well before Championships. Dickinson has been fun to follow these past couple of years as well. I expect they'll continue to break records, both school and conference. Washington had a solid first meet, and Ursinus looks stronger than last year. F and M struggled at Hopkins, but I'm sure they'll get their footing as the season progresses. Seems like Swat lost Davis, but the senior class will pick up the slack. Gettysburg continues to have the talent and depth that will undoubtedly earn them another championship. My eyes are peeled.
