NCAC Meet 2011

Post by ScotsFan » Tue Feb 08, 2011 7:15 am

Well, I guess I'll kick this off again this year. What are your predictions for this year's NCAC Conference Meet? Does a new coach for the Kenyon Ladies and the graduation of Olivia Zaleski mean a return to first place for the Ladies? On the men's side, who wins the battle for third place, and what's it going to take to win the 200 free?

OK ... I'll bite. Kenyon's women win ... not because Zaleski is gone but because Kenyon's women are improved. I take Kenyon in a close meet. They're a lot deeper team this year and have every event pretty much covered. Denison's women are reloading, may have more depth this year than last, but still have a lot of unproven talent. After Stern (Amherst), Swanson has the most range of any freestyler in D3.

Denison wins on the men's side ... again in a close meet. Their diving is the difference maker. Wabash's men get 3rd. 1:38+ wins the 200 FS.

Is this the meet Spencer Fronk will put up the rediculous times that made him the fastest d3 recruit this year?

Yes, I'd like to ask about Spencer Fronk too. Denison typically goes into this meet fully tapered, and that's why I asked what it would take to win the 200 free. It will be very interesting to see what he can do.

The women's meet will be very interesting. Go Natalie!

Also what events is Fronk doing? According to his high school times, he is pretty well-rounded and could swim a lot of different events.

It looks like 200im, 200 free and 100 free.

I would still take stewart-bates in the 200 free. The 200im looks pretty open so Fronk might have a chance to win that event.

Your confusion is what?
K.Stern is competitive with any woman in D2/D3 from 50-1000 yds in the freestyle and untouchable this year in the 100, 200 and 500 (look for new records of 47.8, 1:43.X and 4:42).

No argument with you regarding Stern whatsoever. But there may be one one two other freestylers in division 3 as versatile as Swanson, if not more so.

I think best race will be the 800 free relay. It will be very close, but in the end I think Curtis will run down Turk for an exciting Denison victory.

Going to have to wait for another venue to run down ze Turk - not swimming this year.

I think (hope) the entire post was a joke, as neither of those swimmers are active this year.

C'mon guys... let's focus here... how about on such things as convincing the NCAC to stop charging for live streaming of the meet! Totally bogus if you ask me.

I don't suppose anyone purchased the video and can "tweet" about the live results? All I see on the website is a link once the event is completed - i.e. not heat-by-heat results.
