That's quick! I just checked Bates' instagram too and saw Berry went 20.3.
Confidence booster for him after an up and down season
Any idea what Bates has coming next year? If they can get a fourth to put with Berry-Marcolina-Cory they could have a nice 200FR. I see the medley as a lot harder for them to make at this point.

No idea beyond what's posted on collegeswimming. Their best recruit there is a distance swimmer, so unlikely that he'll be able to help.

Bates's Draper went a 21.67 at NESCACs in the 50 free which is a hair faster than Cory's 50 free (21.70). Hopefully all will be a little faster next year which will be needed to get an invite. You're right - medley will be tough with the loss of Charest and Fuller. the season is so crazy, though, anything can happen as there isn't much info out there in the way of which recruits have committed, at least on the men's side. It would be nice to bring a men's team.

I think Cory would be faster than that if he swam it -- he split 20.59 on the 200FR this year in a meet where they didnt swim great (no offense)
Berry 20.8 -Cory 20.5 -Marcolina 20.71 -Fuller 20.75 with Draper leading off the B in 21.6 and Waterland splitting 21.05. Will likely take 1:21.8 to go next year, i.e. 20.45 average. In the 200MR Cory was 20.46 and Marcolina was 20.6, so if they can get those splits again they just need someone to come in at 21.0 or so and split 20.5 -- doable.

200FR is going to be a fast event next year, even without Gu -- Tufts graduates two guys but won the B relay and should still be fast, Williams returns their entire team, Amherst returns everyone but Wong and had Ma and Meyer swim faster than him on their B, and Colby returns their entire team (1:21.99 in a time trial). Bowdoin loses Abaldo but brings in one guy at 20.9 and another at 21.2, and Bates should be able to replace Fuller - its conceivable that all 6 of those teams are under 1:22.0 next year.
