Re: UST Satisfaction Video

I enjoyed the related videos. "UST - The University of St. Thomas: A Premier Catholic Univeristy" (Their misspelling, not mine.) It's actually a serious video trying to sell the school as an extremely catholic place. Not sure how 'ol St. Tom would have felt about this video, guys...

Live Coverage from d3swimming.com on Twitter

I know a lot of you are living in the stone ages of computers where even Facebook seems too flashy, but you can get live coverage of nationals from our very own silentp on the d3swimming.com Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/d3swimming. You don't actually have to be a member of twitter to watch the f...

Re: Great article on the suit issue

I'm incensed at people who whine ... from those who can't get a swimsuit with 6 months notice .... to those who can't read their mortgage papers. Who's whining now? I suggest you open your dictionary and look up the words criticize and complain. So you're enraged and critical of those who whine abo...

Re: DIII Cap increase official!

Double check the official status of this. A follow up email was sent by the NCAA later this evening that rescinded the email regarding the increase in the cap notification. You're the only one talking about this - maybe you got it confused with the follow up they did send saying that the cap was 28...

Re: Invite Row Estimate

Points taken, apology accepted. Now let's look at what we do know. The NCAA decided on the double-suit ban on Dec 12, 2008 and it went into effect one week later. The NCAA D3 best times list documented the following performances through Dec 17, 2008: [...] First of all I look at these numbers and h...

Re: Elitism, more prevelant in swimming than most sports?

One thing about DIII is you don't get the sense of elitism that you find in DI or in the upper tiers of USA Swimming, mostly But do you think that swimming as a sport fosters elitism more than most sports because of the individualist nature to the sport and the concrete divisions between groups of ...

Re: Impact of new suits?

I think it is interesting that our focus is on the NCAA's decision, while the NCAA will simply point to FINA and say that's their guidance. I have had the opportunity to hear some people speak who have firsthand knowledge of the FINA swimming committee, and they say that the people on that committee...
