Conor Simpson named to the D3 SAAC

I thought this was worth mentioning. Congratulations, Conor.

Re: Who's the favorite in the 400 Free Relay?

It was hard to tell exactly what the contribution was in your post, zinlover, but I believe it was this well-thought-out gem: Happy days are here again! Yeah, Kenyon takes fourth right on man! I'll maintain my GCC-centric view of the world and guess a 2:59 high for them (43.1 + 44.7 + 45.5 + 46.5 = ...

Re: Relay record?

I think GCC goes 1:20 low. Splits of something like 20.8, 20.5, 19.6, 19.4 (= 1:20.3)? If it's a perfect race, they're all firing on all cylinders together, and they all have Peter Larsen-style relay starts, sub-1:20 isn't out of range. I said it is "fun to speculate" -- Have "fun" y'all. We can all...

Re: OT Sprint Freestyle

I'm going put a lot of store by weedwacker2000's perspective, since he knows Caleb Courage better than almost anyone on here. Personally, I think his 100 was a case of freshman jitters, nothing more, nothing less. If he were an arrogant SOB, I think he would have done better. I also expect he will t...

Re: Marketing

Trouble is, swimming is an individual sport. All of the major sports in this country are team sports: basketball, baseball, hockey, football (American, Australian, and everyone else's), and a lot of the second-tier ones are too: lacrosse, volleyball. A few exceptions are true individual sports (tenn...

Re: 2009 Nationals

I'm all in favor of U of Maryland so I can attend. That said, the NCAA needs to get its act together and schedule it there in the next couple of years while I'm still living in this area -- and by that I mean one (or two or three) of the many, many D3 schools in the area should step up to the plate ...

Re: Youtube?

the ncaa doesnt like videos of the races online and takes them down when they notice. a d3swimming name would just make it easier for them to take down. my suggestion last year was to tag them with some random keyword that the ncaa wouldnt search for normally, but we knew to search for. I think the...

This sounds like a question out of any one of my classes.

I tend to think # of points works better. Depth over top-end strength.

Re: 45th PAC Championships

Now for my points analysis. (I hope I don't bore too many out there. ) I actually happen to like points analyses, so I think it's great. Another question along those lines, perhaps interesting, perhaps not: how many night swims in what heats for each team? Someone over in the MIAC was praisi...

Re: 45th PAC Championships

I'm pretty sure we have two separate discussions going here about diving, and I'm considering splitting them off into their own combined thread separate from discussion of the meet. First, lack of recruitment. Barenreiter's backstroke analogy is faulty because Westminster simply doesn't have boards....

Re: Psych Sheet

I'll update it on the meet site as well, as soon as the server where the site is being hosted (not the GCC server) resolves whatever technical difficulties are making updates impossible.

Re: 45th PAC Championships

When will Psyche Sheet be posted? It'll be on the GCC website by Wednesday morning. Not sure when I'll have it posted on the website. On Elroy's predictions, apparently love for W&J has been replaced by love for Westminster? Interesting and puzzling........... I think the 100 fly is Larsen vs. Simp...
