46th PAC Championships

Discuss. Some notes: Due to the abundance of divers this year (especially the women), the meet will technically begin Wednesday night, with the prelims of the women's 3-meter and the men's 1-meter. Chances are good that -- shocking! -- merely showing up will not be enough to score points in women's ...

2003. They finished 17th that year. On the other hand, they haven't been out of the top five since 2004 (when they were 6th).

Re: Westminster + Diving = no more complaining

This is FANTASTIC news. I agree there should be "no more complaining" from this point forward, and for my own part I'm willing to let bygones be bygones and simply congratulate the Titans on bring diving back to New Wilmington. I don't know how they managed to pull it off, but good for them! We are ...

Longnecker and Wooster

GCC and W&J are at Grove City this weekend for the Longnecker Invitational. Psych sheet here . Meet site, with results, here . Westminster and SVC are at Wooster for the Wooster Invite starting tomorrow. Psych sheet here . Results will, I believe, be posted here . Hopefully we'll see some fast times...

Re: More Nice D3 Coverage on FloSwimming

Problem is that people like Don, Kenyon hater number 1 on this board, get super sensitive whenever someone defends Kenyon on any subject. This stupid thought of "oh kenyon wins every year, so why should we praise them any more?". One of the reasons why you don't see any kenyon swimmers posting on h...

Re: Grove City vs. CMU

Cressman will have to step up his performance in order to contribute - I think that he will eventually, but it seems that he has forgotten how to race. As you say, it's early in the season. And we'll have to see how he does this weekend to have a good picture of how he's doing in terms of competiti...

Re: NCAC Relays

Check out the Wooster Women 200 Medley Relay (B). Why you ask? I'm guessing that the first three legs were swam by three sisters (Priscilla, Melissa, and Rebecca Haug), and the sister to sister exchanges both had perfect +0.0 reaction times. Also, note that there are two perfect exchange relays (al...

Ah yes, but you forget one of the most important things about this site: it's NEVER to early in the season to speculate about how things will come out in the end.

W&J

This is a fantastic incoming class for the W&J men. They should be pretty competitive in the 800 FRel with Westminster. They could crack top 2 in the medleys maybe, but I feel like that's a bit of a long shot. Their notable losses include Brandon Boyer in addition to Mancuso. He led off both their m...

Re: Freshmen Class for the PAC

Outside Smoker, I'm not sure why you are saying that replacing Kirk Gagliardo for Matt Leonard is a loss for GCC. My point was only that I don't expect him to replace Leonard in Leonard's specific events, and therefore Grove City loses something in those events. If we're talking overall points repl...

Re: Freshmen Class for the PAC

OK, let's compare what's lost from PACs last year with what's gained from incomers. Westminster K. Ammon - 22.31 (50fr), 21.81 (50fr relay split), 49.77 (100fr) A. Balazs - 25.48 (50fr), 58.15 (100fr), 2:26.92 (200fr) M. Barringer - 52.43 (100fly), 59.73 (100br), 21.08 (50fr relay split), 26.91 (50b...

Re: Cut Times?

I just hope they don't muck up this fiasco even further by eventually posting them without announcement in an unexpected place that no one generally thinks to look. With bureaucracy all things are possible. Where exactly are we expecting them to be posted? I've lost track of where the favored site is.

Re: 2009 NCAA D3Swimming.com Recruit Class Rankings

Reading this It's an extremely long and drawn out formula... basically I try to take them objectively. Sprinters, despite their low stars for the most part, are given some "mind weight" and top level recruits help a lot because they are the guys getting teams to nationals. After that, depth plays a ...

Re: Singleton

ANyone remember SIngleton having to win a swim off with Sam gyorfi in order to make the big 8 in 2004? And of course he then went on to win the race. After that 22.7, that seems like an eternity ago. I remember reading about it after the fact and being a big fan of him winning from the outside lane...

Re: Who's the favorite in the 400 Free Relay?

Ok by the way you typed that you think Courage is going to lead off in 43.1? Absolutely not. Actually, I meant 43.1 as a relay-start time (and 44.7 and 45.5), and 46.5 was supposed to be the flat-start leg. Sorry about the confusion. Reverse the times (i.e. 46.5, 45.5, 44.7, and 43.1) and it'll loo...
