Re: Race Videos

I was wondering if anyone on here happened to have any race videos from 2004 and 2006 NCAA's. I am looking for consolation finals of the 200 IM and 100 back from 2004, and the Final of the 200 back from 04. I am also looking for the finals of the 100 and 200 back from 2006. Any help would be greatl...

That was the 8 person relay at the Mizzou meet. Each person swims 25 yds of a stroke.

Re: 2008-2009 MIAA Predictions

Anyone want to throw a number out there for the slowest possible time a 1:54.5 IMer would be in the 200 free. Could they be worse than 1:46.0? I say no. And though I think kzoo and Hope will both be under 6:50, I do not think either will be picked up for Nats (though that won't matter) Depends on w...

Re: Pro/con DIII vs. Ivy league

Does Yale look better on an application than Kenyon? Yes, of course. Does it matter? Considering that 85% of people get there jobs through networking, not by having a better resume than everyone else, not really. So if you want to be able to make allusions to your times at Harvard to give yourself ...

Re: Pro/con DIII vs. Ivy league

Williams, Amherst, Emory, MIT and Chicago Josh I totally agree with what you said. Would you add: Middlebury, The C-M-S schools, and JHU to your list? Oh, and because it is D3, Cal-Tech of course. I am sure there are a fwe more, I think Bates and Colby are really close, but not quite there. Wash U ...

Re: LZR/Blueseventy

I don't think he meant with respect to the swimmers, but rather to the Athletics department. That wasn't the case either. I also doubt that it's the case at WashU. For sure. I wasn't saying I agreed with the point, but just trying to clarify his statement. If it were all about participation, the AD...

Re: LZR/Blueseventy

At the D3 level, it's all about participation As a former D3 swimmer, I find this comment insulting. Was my college experience based on more than swimming? Yes, but to say that swimming was just a fun little distraction and that the only thing coaches or ad's cared about was participation is wrong ...

Re: College Drinking

Who monitors the captains? The coach. It's not that hard. You drink the night before, you smell of booze, your practice was terrible, your coach notices. Also, since the rules are made up by the captains and discussed with the coach, why would they push for such harsh drinking rules if they just pl...

Re: College Drinking

There are try-outs. There are expectations that you'll be in shape. They're not banning eating a poor diet, but if it becomes a problem and you can no longer keep up, you'll be cut. 100% the exact opposite of the spirit of D3 athletics and the mission of D3. so apparently, if you can't keep up with...

Re: College Drinking

Did I argue that I had a right to be on the swim team? I don't believe so. However, I am arguing that the swim team doesn't have a right to dictate that I can't be involved in a sport because of the fact that I participated in a legal activity (I don't think I need to show you that law). That is, u...

Re: College Drinking

Not really the point. What right does anyone have to dictate what I do in my free time, given that no laws are being broken? Don't get me wrong, winning the JV Championship is probably a rush but give me a break. Perhaps they should place a moratorium on banging chicks too. Though I suppose banning...
