Re: If they had taken 16 relays this year...

Just for reference - what the cutoff times would have been if they took 16 relays this year:

200 FR - 1:23.44
200 MR - 1:33.15
400 FR - 3:04.35
400 MR - 3:25.79
800 FR - 6:51.21

Re: Men's Invited Swimmers as of 3/1/10

Oh I agree, given the chance to make Nationals through that route I would definitely do it. I didn't really consider that some schools practice swim SCM/LCM which I guess makes a bit of a difference. I don't know if the NCAA has an updated conversion system or not but some of the older conversions a...

Re: Men's Invited Swimmers as of 3/1/10

That'll be interesting indeed. Also with so few teams being able to bring complete relays to the meet they could probably put together a solid 2/4 medley with Pai, they will probably not bring a butterflier to Nationals (at least one that swam butterfly at SCIACs) but they will have enough freestyle...

Re: Men's Invited Swimmers as of 3/1/10

One question too - Pai from CMS is 19th in the IM and it looks like he's out by one spot, but his teammate Weber, who is 8th in the 2 IM, can make the meet through his 16th ranked 2 free instead - if he doesn't swim the 2 IM at nationals would Pai move up to 18 and get in the meet? Again not sure he...

Re: Men's Invited Swimmers as of 3/1/10

I think it's kind of stupid that you can qualify for Nationals with a LC time if you couldn't make it in a 25 yard pool. It's not a LC meet, after all, and everyone gets a shot at conference to swim fast in a SCY pool.

Re: Pai

He pulled his hamstring during the 400 medley relay and scratched the rest of the meet, except for a TT 100 fly which he went a 52 low in I believe. After injuring himself that was the only stroke he could swim. It would have been fun to watch him go against Gladys in the breaststrokes.

Hey Chris,

Could you elaborate a little more on what's going on at floswimming and why Garrett and you are leaving the site? Everything that's being put out seems so vague right now. If you can't for one reason or another I understand though.

Re: 2009 NCAA D3Swimming.com Recruit Class Rankings

99 - Vincent Pai is not related to Dickson Fai.

But yeah, CMS has a real solid group there, they had a really strong conference meet. Also if I remember correctly I think Hallett time trialed a 50 point in the 100 fly.

Re: Redlands

He hasn't had to take any races really hard yet, and he actually negative split his 100 (24.0/23.9), which suggests that he probably could have gone a whole lot faster. I think he'll show up in February/March.
