Calvin men final score

I don't know if this was discussed in another thread, but I thought this was pretty darn funny:

1. Kalamazoo College 895.5
2. Calvin College 666
3. Hope College 527.5
4. Albion College 464.5
5. Olivet College 367
6. Alma College 246.5

Re: Calvin's Pool/Recruits

Is it a coincidence that since Calvin got the new pool that their boys program also got a refreshing new start? I don't think it's a coincidence. Except for (as Quacker pointed out) an outlier year or two, the Calvin men are probably the best they've ever been. And their talent is young, so the fut...

Re: New Albion Head Coach

It's a generalization, but not an incorrect one. It is a statistical fact that the level of education and income of your average Fox News viewers is low. And advertisers know this. You get 3 kinds of advertisements on Fox News: 1) JG Wentworth or other structured settlement type companies. 2) stop ...

Re: New Albion Head Coach

Not sure how much of this story is true since it is somewhat past my time, but hope currently employs a ph.d faculty with significant swimming experience (peter boumgarden). Rumor has it that when he was brought in it was made clear he was to focus on teaching and not swimming and as a result we wo...

Re: New Albion Head Coach

I've heard a deterrent for Taber in going to Hope is that Hope coaches have to have a PHD in some field. I think its is still in effect however i'm not sure if it requires already having a phd or just plans to go back eventually. There have been a number of recent hires of people around jake's age ...

1:52.10. I blame the HAC.

Re: Hazekamp

Ruch and Heyboer are already tied at 1:50.48, thus making it a manage a trois. However, if you ask JP, only Biff has the record... Why does he say that? Unless Linus' 1:50.48 happened in Spain, in which case it doesn't count, because Spain wasn't real and by extension nothing that happened there ac...

Re: 400 IM

Solid time by Shade (4:09.7), I have to imagine he was saving something for tonight. Travis Vincent (4:12.4) is going to be a thug come senior year. I am sure Shady is saving something for this evening----he'd have to either DQ or have his arms and legs fall off to not make it back top 8. And 4:12 ...

Re: Alma/Calvin

Seems to me that Alma is just a few swimmers away from making the MIAA a 5 deep conference. How is that not more of a discussion on this board? In regards to Calvin, when was the last time they swam this well? It seems like Calvin has traditionally had great talent but never lived up to expectation...

Kenyon v. Miami

Kenyon swam against Miami this weekend, with the men losing 163-135 and the women also losing 167-119. Here are my thoughts on this meet: Kenyon swimmers were relieved to learn that it would be Miami of Ohio and not Miami of Florida they would be facing. They had expressed some concern prior to the ...

Re: 1:21.6

You won't see that again any time soon. Richardson from Kenyon ripped his arms out of his sockets last week, trying to deadlift over 900 pounds. Steen tried to stop him, but Richardson had his Dr. Dre headphones (listening to slim shady, obviously) on and couldn't hear his coach's frantic pleas.

Re: Denison / Kenyon

Y'all are (correctly) forgetting about Ian Richardson for Kenyon. He's been skipping practice, and was fully tapered for that OSU meet. That 200 FR was all smoke and mirrors, they're unlikely to see 1:21, or even 1:22 for the rest of the season. Nats will be an embarrassment for them.

Re: why does this ALWAYS happen

You guys are idiots. Think about it, Manning scored 203.66 points and Lodewyk only scored 154.35 points (he had style points deducted on his turns, and Manning took all of the "lap leader" points). Manning won because he scored 49.31 more points than Lodewyk did. It makes perfect sense!
