Re: MIAA 2020 Predictions

Some bold predictions of my own: -Connor Robertson beats Keith for the 2 back, and goes on to a top 3 finish in all of his individual events -Robertson still will not win the mile -The Peruvian Legend will go best times in the 500 and 2 fly, for 2nd and 1st place, respectively. Breaks 1:50 in the 2 ...

Re: Midseason meets

I intended no disrespect, I just got my info from looking at the top 8 times in the conference on collegeswimming.com. To that end, it looks like I missed a couple noteworthy swims from Alma and Olivet's midseason meet at the Carthage Invitational. Takato Timmerman is a great new swimmer for Olivet,...

Midseason meets

Some notes after reviewing collegeswimming.com top times in the MIAA. Hope is looking good, though not super deep. They have some great freshmen speed in the sprint frees and distance frees in Boonstra and Smith (who was 4:38 and 16:12, or something around there). It seems like they can put together...

Re: For the sake of all things good.....

I'm with you, Merlin. When I tried to post a reply in chrome it doesn't work for me, though, so I had to try a different browser to post. I'm excited for the conference meet this year, because it looks like Hope has enough going to make it less of a glorified Calvin-Albion dual meet. There will be l...

Re: NCAAs 2019

100 Fly Kozycki (ALBC m) - 18th - 49.03 Britton (CALV m) - 25th - 49.35 I think Kozycki actually tied for 17th, which is too bad. Finals tonight : Albion women drop a little time to get 14th in 1:35.41 and Calvin women gain a little time to go 15th in 1:35.74. Albion won the rematch after the confe...

Re: Natatorium Rankings

1) Calvin 2) Albion 3) Alma (which I like a little better than Albion's as far as seating and depth of the pool goes, except Albion has the separate diving well to put it into second) 4) Hope. I put Hope over Olivet because it has has way better crowd seating, and windows. 5) Olivet 6) Kzoo. That pl...

Re: Post MIAA 2019 Discussion

Came here to echo similar thoughts to William Wallace... The meet was phenomenal and it was always going to be close, on both sides. The Albion men swam super well, and so did the Calvin men. Same for the Hope women and Calvin women. The winning swimmers weren't thinking that they were winning becau...

Re: MIAA 2019 Thread

Swim of the day definitely goes to Dan Clyde, rocking that individual MIAA record. That was a baller swim. Ryan Gelderloos is holding up, looked really good going a 1:42 flat start. Gabe Kirk time trials a 58.1 after the meet, which would have been good for second, kind of a bummer for Calvin there....

Re: MIAA's 2019

That assumes that Calvin doesn't put B. Holstege on both medleys, which they almost assuredly will, as they don't need him to win the 200 free I agree, especially considering that Calvin's 2 free relay is likely already going to nationals with the 1:21 from mid season. Also, for the record, I'd enj...

Re: MIAA In-Season Records

Just going to update with a few more times from this year, feel free to correct if there are swims that I missed. 50 Free: 20.88 Brian Fiorillo Albion (Albion vs Calvin 2/2/2013) 100 Free: 46.38 Kurt Blohm Hope (Calvin & Hope, 11/05) 200 Free: 1:40.98 Julian Iturbe Calvin (Calvin vs GVSU 10/19/2018)...

Re: Mid Season Meets

Updates from night 1 of the Calvin Invite: Women 800 Free Relay: Calvin gets 2nd behind Grand Valley, going 7:40. Last year Calvin was 7:34 with Van Harn and Engle on the A relay. Engle was missing this year from the A relay, but I can't seem to find who was on their B and C relays. Calvin B and C g...

Re: Mid Season Meets

Looking forward to watching some of the results this weekend. As far as Albion goes, I thought their invitational went reasonably well. Pretty sure Mac Robertson got a PR in the 500, and freshman Fogel wasn't too far behind him. Not all of their guys looked like they had a particularly fast midseaso...

Re: Albion V Kalamazoo

Looks like Howrey and Tommy Wiseau ended up at 10:11 and 10:14 in the 1000.

Also, looks like a couple famous people joined Albion's team: Anthony Hopkins, and Ash(ley) Ketchum.

Re: Oct 19/20 meets

Also looks like he was 4:43 in the 500 at a dual meet in high school and has a 4:02 400 IM. Good for Hope, and good for anyone who doesn't want the conference meet to wind up being a glorified dual meet like it was last year.

Re: Oct 19/20 meets

Do coaches ever actually rest their teams for dual meets? In my experience, it’s not actually a thing, and it’s only ever been something that people claim happens when other people/teams go fast.
