Re: Good Old NCAA

Did anyone notice that Emory put 4 women in the championship final of the 200 free and 7 of the top 21 swims in the event? I hope no other team thinks they have a chance in the 800 free relay tomorrow. Wow. [ Post made via iPad ] This made me laugh...because Emory just took second to Williams thank...

Andrew Wilson Just Posted the 9th Fastest 100 Breast EVER

51.72

That's an A cut for DI, as well as being the third fastest time in the nation this year. And 9th overall EVER EVER.

Damn.

And he's got a year to go.

Re: Nats 2014

For anyone who is curious...the fire alarm went off because a heating sensor broke.

Wish it was more sensational than that.

Hell, I wish the popcorn machine had caught on fire! Sadly, it's just an old(er) building and shit breaks.

Re: Nats 2014

I feel like someone from Williams must have...but I don't actually know for sure. It might be something special that Ana managed this year. She certainly had the drive and support necessary to achieve something historic like that!

Re: Five relay wins by same team

No, probably not. They already won the relays, not much room for more points there. They scored 387 points, minus 200 points for the five relay wins and that is 187 points in individual events. If we clone all of their individual point scorers and they score another 187 points, that's still only 57...

Kenyon wins by 8. JHU has the school's top finish. Dang good meet and a close race the whole way.

Re: Nats 2014

I think as long as it's the "force of the stroke" and not a deliberate attempt to bring the elbows up it's fine. Don't quote me on that one though, because I am SOOOO not a breaststroker.

Re: Five relay wins by same team

What could also be pretty interesting is that - if you look at the past few years - the average relay placing is usually also where a championship team finishes. Just food for thought. Multiply Kitayama, Rinsma, Brown and Ternes by two... Give 'em a solid breaststroker or two... Could they have take...

Re: Nats 2014

Interesting. Thought this was a team sport. Not sure what the absence of "shining stars" has to do with anything. If the Emory women continue their dominance, without the so-called studs, isn't that a true testament to the strength and quality of the coaching and and program? Stars win dual meets. ...

Re: Nats 2014

There are lots of teams coming out of the woodwork at this meet. Conn has been doing well, Gustavus really is putting themselves out there. Wheaton has had multiple people make it back to individual finals. Chicago has been fast. The TCNJ relays have been SICK. Emory's men came up and at 'em. To my ...

Re: Nats 2014

If JHU's coach doesn't get Coach of the Year, there is no justice. These men and women have been swimming out of their minds. They were within 40 points of Emory after Day 2, which in and of itself is a pretty big accomplishment. Also, the highest finish in school history - according to the website ...

Re: CC Swimming '14

I guess that makes sense - it does seem a shame, though, for a great talent to keep himself from showing on a national scale what he can do against the best of the best simply because he'd be going it alone.

Re: NCAC 2014

Thanks for that info, BigRed Parent. Interesting how the selection process for diving is so much less cut and dry than the one for swimming.
