Re: duel meets mean nothing

I got nervous as hell for dual meets and always, always wanted to win and swim well - especially when the other team had someone who could beat me. I still remember every dual meet loss I had... F'ing Grant Comer :) I hope no one is taking it easy in dual meets... And drag suits are stupid in meets ...

Re: OT: Chris Greenwood

That is pretty cool. Any background about this guy you can share (how he ended up d3?)? I think he was a transfer from Eastern Michigan. Read in a local newspaper that there have been 3 D3 players drafted in the past 5 years or so and they have all played in the NFL now. [ Post made via iPhone ]

Re: A little disappointed..

Mitchell dove at Kzoo and coached at Hope (still?). Though he also transferred and dove at Hope. There are at least 3 cases of swimmers/divers not being able to make it at Kzoo and transferred/downgraded to Hope - but none that have made the huge upward leap from Hope to Kzoo. Re: Top 3 2012 MIAAs

Sweet, I'm not forgotten! I often swam the fly and 200 free at duals, b/c we were deep in backstroke at the time (Latham, Sheeran, Tisch, Michaels). Went 1:45 in season a few times. Hated swimming the 800 FR on Saturdays because it was my 7th swim that day - but always wanted to beat Jeff Walker's r...

About time Hope paid for the coup that was Jason Pierce.

Re: New Hope Assistant Coach

I had coaches who were former team members at Kzoo. Thronton is right, handle it professionally and it isn't a big deal. Absolutely NO underage drinking infront of the assistant. What about throwing kickboards at them? [ Post made via iPhone ] Well,I wasn't throwing it AT the assistant coach. Becau...

Re: MVP

Did Gary Simon hold 3 national records? Mulvihill may have as well. Oh and probably someone from the first meet ever held.

Re: K 400 Reays

My point was about relays as much as individual swims. Having those two in the same year made it very hard for Hope to have a chance on any free relay.

Re: At The Meet

I missed Kenyon's and Denison's acceptance of the trophies/places. Anyone have video of that? Did Denison do any count? Following the end of the meet Online, lot's of Kenyon people defended the count as "that's ours." Very proud of it. They also made sure to mention as much as possible that Parini ...

Re: Gregg Parini Spit in my Lane

Thanks Donovan. Glad it was entertaining. 99 Red, here are a few quotes about Parini. I think I accuratly portrayed the type of scum bag he was in college. If there was some big change in adult-hood, then it doesn't really explain the biggest meathead in college swimming, Aaron Cole. I did not atte...

Re: MVP

I think that everyone can agree though that there would be a lot of questions if the team that you followed made a similar decision. Hypothetically, Kalamazoo alums (picking the team with the most fans on here), would you be critical if Fleming had only swum 2 relays last week, resulting in both of...

Re: Why Kenyon lost (errr.... I mean why Denison won)

One blown taper in 30+ years would not shake my confidence too much, but for the purposes of this thread I am ok with predicting this is the beginning of the end for Kenyon. Steen's next sabbatical will last decades and I'll have no problem pronouncing the names of all their future recruits.

Re: 23 in the 50 back

Pretty crazy Armstrong rips off a 23.8 and is almost 2 seconds slower than K's split from only the previous year. Armstrong's improvement has been amazing.

I don't think Blohm ever swam the back on a tapered relay for Hope - pretty sure he would have been there had he done it, though.
