Re: End of 2012-13 season stuff

And it probably goes without saying that the women's meet will be uncontroversial as to whom to predict for the winning team. Is 2nd place going to be interesting there?

Re: End of 2012-13 season stuff

In conclusion for Westminster to win the men's meet they have to make up a 159.5 point difference from last year's championships. Can their freshmen and returning swimmers make up this difference? I don't know, but I suspect there's a good chance. The Grove City men's dual meet loss to Westminster ...

Re: Where exactly do we stand at this point?

I always say its easier to judge how each team stands after the winter invites towards the end of the semester. Although my experience with WC swimmers has been that they don't really show what they can do till training trip is complete. I agree with everything you say here. Klamut knows how to get...

Where exactly do we stand at this point?

So where are we? No one seems to have a freshman class that has shown evidence of setting the world on fire, even though some of the specific freshman look like excellent catches. Everyone's women's team (even Bethany's) is noticeably bigger than everyone's men's team. They also seem to be doing bet...

Re: Championship predictions, 2011

I'm putting the website up again this year, though it's not quite completely updated (and therefore not uploaded) yet. Look for it on Monday, finally finished or not. Also trying out a Facebook page this year: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=191389170885420. We'll see how that one goes. Feel f...

Also, ignore the fact that I ignored the fact that Krystal Kovach isn't diving for Behrend this year.

Re: Championship predictions, 2011

Having been COMPLETELY out of the loop for the entire season, I hope that no one will begrudge me a little bit of surprise -- well, no, actually a lot of surprise -- at the chances that the Behrend men have of rising convincingly into the ranks of the Big 3 at the meet this year. The fact that W&J’s...

Re: The Future of Kenyon Swimming

While I congratulate Kenyon College on their 30th victory and recognize their outstanding program over the years, I would never recommend sending any swimmer to that college. Having knowledge of the atmosphere and the drama of this past season, the huge upsurge at Nike, and then the disaster at con...

Re: Day 2 Comments

Mark Bernstein's 200: 48.74-48.95= 1:37.69 THAT IS DISGUSTING So is this, but for different reasons: 8 Geissinger, John SR Denison 1:38.05 1:40.94 22.57 24.98 26.04 27.35 Either way, I love Bernstein's "my slowest 50 will be the 2nd one" approach to the 200. And I don't mean to be too hard on Geiss...

Re: Day 2 Comments

I don't think I'll be going to hear Rattle 'n' Hum on April the whatever-it-is. Then again, maybe he was just having a bad day.

Re: PAC Representation at NCAAs

I also heard a rumor that the 4FR aggregate is somewhere in the 3:01.xx range. I didn't hear where they got that number, but something suspects me it was from the times that Caleb, Timmy, Peter, and Kirk swam in the open 100 on Saturday night (44.40, 44.82, 46.25, 46.30). That combination is 3:01.7...

Re: Too many A cuts?

Isn't an A cut automatic? Yes. There was a too-many-A-cuts problem in D3 a few years ago (05, I think?) with the women's 200 medley relay. Something like a dozen teams made the A-cut, and I'm pretty sure they all got to swim (and the lines for the other relays ended up being noticeably shorter than...

Re: PAC Representation at NCAAs

Coach Fritz can answer this more fully than I, but briefly, not only can you submit an aggregate time but you must submit an aggregate if it is the fastest combination available of four swims by different swimmers. This goes for any relay, DQ'd or not. (I'm not sure if you can make an exception if y...

Re: 46th PAC Championships

Right. Obviously he'll be moving up and pushing some others down in his events. But what are his events going to be? What are the chances that he doesn't do all 3 of the sprint frees? I could see him getting mixed up in the 2IM or the 1back, or who knows what else. And he could probably win almost a...
