D3Swimming.com has named Emory’s Annelise Kowalsky its Athlete of the Week in women’s swimming and diving for meets the week of October 24th.
The Excelsior, Minnesota native and Junior member of the Emory Eagles squad, threw down the fastest 100 Breaststroke so far of the season at a 1:04.75. Kowalsky also posted times of 2:23.01 and 2:07.70 in the 200 Breaststroke and 200 IM respectfully.
After placing in the top 8 in both the 200 Breaststroke and 200 IM and in the top 16 in the 100 Breaststroke at last years’ NCAAs, Kowalsky is off to a strong start this season.
Kowalsky is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.
Moving onto the men’s side, D3Swimming.com has selected Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology’s Martin Orion as its Athlete of the Week.
Martin, who hails from Dublin, Ohio, earned a B cut in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:53.38. He also threw down an impressive time of :49.87 in the 100 Fly falling just short of a B cut in that event as well.
Following up a 6th place finish at last years NCAAs, Martin appears to be ready to make a push for a spot in the 200 Fly with this performance.
Martin is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.
