Gettysburg Freshmen

Post by babwik » Tue Nov 08, 2011 9:33 am

Just noticed Gettysburg College has a pretty great class of freshmen men

Patrick Sweeney: 22.0/48.8, 52.0fly
Jason Potter: 21.3/46.2/1:41.1
Ashton Leyens: 22.1/46.2/1:41.9
Mike Harmon: 20.9/ 45 (on a relay), 52.5/1:51bk, 51fly, 1:56im
Stu Cubbison:22.0/48.0, has already been 21.8/48.0 this year

They have some others that can succeed at the conf level as well. This is the type of group that can put together some relays and individuals for NCAAs, which is a big step forward for them.

I see a trend here.
Many people think Spain is here...
On the other hand, there is a school of thought that claim Spain is here...those people too are wrong.
Where is Spain? It could be...here? here? here?

They've certainly addressed their needs and will battle all year.
Frank: Look, I didn't go to Vietnam just to have pansies like you take my freedom away from me.
Dee: You went to Vietnam in 1993 to open up a sweatshop!
Frank: ...and a lot of good men died in that sweatshop!

Yep! They could potentially have four score in the 100 free!

On a serious note, if the Gettysburg freshmen could swim as their own team at the Centennial meet in Feb, they would win a majority of the relays. A breaststroker in the class would have made it a certainty. They are already the most talented freshmen class in Gettysburg, if not centennial conference history. They just changed the game in their conferences small bubble.

3 freshmen and a senior put up a 3:04.2, and a 4th frosh on the B relay went a 47. Unprecedented in CC.

I would assume recruiting has picked up due to the fact that their coach is really starting to look like Ron White:

I like their coach, too. I don't know him personally, but when we swam them he always struck me as someone that'd be fun to swim for.
Declaring myself the 2010 d3swimming.com fantasy nationals champion until 99red says otherwise
