15:40.61 1500 SCM A Cut?

Postby Natalog » Mon Aug 09, 2010 6:56 am

I was looking over some past women's cuts and came across a 15:40.61 for the 1500 short course meters A cut in 2009. This clearly is not correct. 17:17.51 in 2008 and 17:12.69 in 2010. Anyone know the correct 2009 cut?

The 1650 yard A-cut in 2009 was 17:17.49 which fits right in the numbers you quote. Why do you call these times 1500 SCM?

Actually, 17:17.49 is the yards cuts. The one that is wrong is the short course meters (SCM) cut. It is listed in the official NCAA 2009 handbook as 15:40.61. I am assuming that the NCAA corrected it at some point and was wondering if anyone knew the corrected time. I'm guessing it is supposed to be 17:14.40, because the yards and long course A cuts each dropped by 0.30% and the short course cut probably dropped by the same amount.
