Doesn't anyone on D3swimming follow the ladies?
LYST= Last Year's Selection Time

MIAA Day 1: Bressler from Calvin under LYST with 23.76 in the 50.

NCAC Day 1: Denison A-cut the 2FRR; 5 swimmers under LYST in the 500 w/ 3-A-cuts; 3 IMs under LYST, 1-A-cut; Zaleski under LYST in the 50 w/ A-cut; Den and KC under the 4MR selection time, Denison A-cut.

WIAC Day 1: LAX and Point under LYST in 2FRR; Hoff A-cut the 50 with the fastest time in the nation (23.13) while Nordstrom hit LYST right on the nose; Hoff A-cut the leadoff leg of the 4MR with a 55.59 (fastest 1-back in the nation by more than a second).

So any thoughts on this year's Q times after a weekend of conference champs?

In case anyone missed it, Liz Horvat just dropped a 452 in the 500 tonite. She is completely unrested (fact). Looks like she will crush the 500 at NCAAs this year.

How about Day 2 unrested/unshaved 4:23 400 IM for Horvat, 56.2 Fly for Ciardelli and 1:04.2 100 Breast for Aronoff (Emory now back to #1 and #2 in that event).

Kendra Stern 4:52.14 and Caroline Wilson 4:52.57 (both unrested) had a classic race. Multiple swimmers under the record at Nats.

Amanda Croix from Carthage with a 23.0 and 1:48.6 so far in the CCIW... pretty sick swimming!

So now that NESCACS are complete, certainly looks like Williams will be there in force,
Amherst and Middlebury will have some point scorers, Stern looked very good breaking all her own meet records.

Wow, looks like the 5 will be a barn burner. Anyone know what the 4IM/Mile looks like. All I know is that Horvat looked so powerful in both races at UAAs. That girl is something else. Will she repeat as Swimmer of the Year?

And to think that Horvat and the other women were not tapered and still scored the most points by a female team in UAA history. Unfortunately, it looks like some Emory qualifiers might not make "the dance" as they will qualify over 18 team members.

As unfortunate as it is to be one of those left behind, I doubt that Coach Howell is all that upset about his "problem."
Also, I imagine if he has to cut someone, it will be an underclassman who will have other chances. It's tough, but that's what happens when you swim for a great team. Just ask Kenyon. They have this "problem" at least every other year...

agreed on the sickness of those swims. Congrats to her. Beth DeLaRosby, her coach, is a former stud sprinter for Gustavus back in the early 2000's.

Also, Fr Mosher from GAC, put up a really quick 2:01 in the 200 back prelims last week. Could be a factor come nationals.
