I am pretty sure that as many women as men swam this past weekend at Midseason taper(or not) Meets but I don't see much discussion.

Swim of the weekend candidate: Liz Horvat - Emory - 4:51.71 - new D3 National record.

Any other stellar efforts?

Some good ones, but that was obviously the best swim of the weekend.

All of the Kenyon breaststrokers.

A week ago, I would've said 1:01 (or is it 1:00?) and 2:12 in the breaststrokes were the "safest" records on the books; now I'm not so sure.

Logan Todhunter of Williams swam a 2:02.77 in a untapered meet last Saturday. Look for her to break the 2:00 barrier this season. She could be the DIII women's FY swimmer of the year.

Even with Horvat's outstanding record swim in the 500, my money is on Amherst's Kendra Stern to take the 500 title with a swim under 4:50 at Nationals.

What do you think will be the women's winnining 500 free time at nationals? I thnk it will be under 4:50 for sure. My money is still on Kendra Stern.

I finally got to see Liz Horvat at conference. She's tall, lanky, huge reach. It should be a good race.

Any thoughts on the sprints? You've gotta think Westby and Stridh will be up there with their untapered conference times.

Now that Horvat broke 4:50 in prelims, how fast wil either she or Kendra Stern swim tonight in the championship heat? I suspect it will take a 4:48 to win.
