Washington and Lee University invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach of Men’s & Women’s Swimming. Founded in 1749, Washington and Lee is a highly selective, residential co-educational liberal arts university of 1790 students located in the beautiful Valley of Virginia. The University is a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference for Women’s Swimming and the Bluegrass Mountain Conference for Men’s Swimming. Washington and Lee is a member of NCAA.

This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position reporting to the Head Coach of Men’s & Women’s Swimming and the Director of Athletics. The successful candidate will also teach in our required physical education program and will be assigned a second administrative duty. Candidates must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for student-athletes as well as the importance of good citizenship both on and off the pool deck.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting head coach in the coordination of all aspects of the program and assisting with recruitment of qualified student-athletes.

A bachelor’s degree and collegiate coaching experience, or the equivalent of education and experience, is required. A master’s degree is preferred.
