Golden Kick Board Award

Post by shirtandtie » Tue Jan 10, 2006 1:41 pm

With the BW-ONU dual meet fast approaching, will BW ladies and ONU Men repeat, or will ONU girls and BW guys get to hold the Golden Kick Board for the first time.

What exactly is the Golden Kickboard?
Making people swim above water since that one guy used to swim backstroke underwater.

The Golden Kickboard is just like the brown jug for the winner of the Michigan vs. Minnesota football game. Its like a trophy for the winner of the game until the next year.

Personally, I can't wait to swim BW in what is quickly becoming a classic rivalry. Last year I swam some of my fastest times of the year at that meet just because of the excitment. But I think the real excitment this year will be in the Free Relays (whether it be 200 or 400 free). With ONU finally in possesion of a strong sprint crew we've posted a best of 1:27.05 200 Free Relay with BW at a 1:27.26 which leaves no room for error. We all know this will be a close meet, but it could possibly be decided by the two anchor legs. This should be crazy.

The Golden Kick Board Award was originated by one of the greatest assistant coaches in OAC history, but I'm drawing a blank at his name right now... if someone could help let me know. Thanks

Congrats to the BW ladies and men on the Golden Kickboard Award for this season. It was a good meet with some close races. I'm looking forward to swimming at Conference this year. It should be an exciting and close meet. Good luck the rest of the year.

Impressive Meet

Both BW and ONU are to be congratulated on an impressive meet. Both teams appears to have swam unconscious and posted some sick times. No doubt OACs will be a bit more interesting this year with the influx of talent, speed, and dedication. Congratulations to BW on taking the Golden Kick Board.
