And Colby with undoubtedly their best class in year -- good to see them coming back. Give Burton some bodies and I think he can do something with it.

I know I am a little late to the show but I was just looking at some of the incoming freshman and I couldn't believe Bowdoins class (and I am now just seeing polarbears comment above) but I think they are quietly assembling a really stellar class. As of right now here is where they stand:

Leighton Mayers: 21.8/48.2/1:43.16/4:42.2 50.10/1:49.9 Back 50.6 Fly
Danny Calder: 22.09/48.03/1:45.45/4:42.16 50.6/1:51.4 Fly 4:09 4IM
Jackson Scott: 21.14/46.92 52.5Fly
Ethan O'Connor: 20.74/46.64/1:43.73 51.54 1Back 51.05 1 Fly

Each one of these guys could be an impact relay swimmer (especially with Sarier graduating) and they still have another year before they show up on campus (which I know could help or hurt them). Any of the guys above would be recruited by any NESCAC school and all of them going to Bowdoin will be a huge boost for them over the next few years. If Bowdoin continues to pull in big recruits and develop them I think they could start to pushing closer to the top 3.

There's more coming . . . .
(Do note -- Ethan O'Connor's sprint free times are splits, flat time bests are 21.4 / 47.0. Very helpful, but not as fast as it looks)

Few more Jumbos posted on collegeswimming

Evan Szablewski - 4:40/9:33/16:15
Otto Laakso - 21.6/46.8
Peter LaBarge - 21.2/47.1

Note all of these times for swimmers above are Jr year times. Could see some pretty impressive improvement too. Looks like the Tufts free group is getting stronger.

Christian Moy 21.31/46.60/1:38.14 and 50.34 good use him right now.
He'll keep Amherst's sprint/free relay squad in good shape next year.

@purpleandwhite, Amherst exposes so serious holes this past weekend. Mid distance/distance, 2 Fly, IM. Their sprinting free, back and breast are in good shape. If they want to really compete at NESCAC they need to address the above holes. It was quite revealing.

And Williams exposed serious holes in backstroke, breaststroke, sprint fly and diving. Don't expect them to competitive in sprint frees either come conference. They were primed, rested and ready to take on Amherst (compare the in season times for the respective free swimmers for both teams) and yet couldn't beat an Amherst 400 free relay team that didn't feature its fastest 100 free swimmer. I'll wager Amherst will dominate Williams in the 50/100 free and hold their own in the 200 free when all are rested and tapered. I'll grant Williams the advantage in the distance free and IMs but that is not enough to win a championship and might not be enough to hold onto second place.

“Primed, rested and ready”. That’s priceless. Spread will be greater than last year.

Does anybody else think that 1:38.1 is too good to be true? His previous best was a 1:42.9 in Feb '18. Not saying that is impossible to have a 4+ second drop in a 200 but I would expect him to have had significant drops in other events from his Feb times and that does not seem to be the case in his 100 fly or 100 free (granted he dropped .6 in his 50 which is impressive!).

I am not trying to stir things up but 21.3, 46.6, and 1:38.1 do not seem to track correctly in my opinion. When you look at the meet he did it in everyone else was in the 1:47+ range as well. The meet also does not have proper splits.

I am not saying that the time is false, I just think that there is enough grey area to ask a couple questions...

Yes, I agree I think it's a mistake. The meet result on college swimming if you click it has 21.48 as the opening 50 and then 76.6 for the next 50, but no other splits. Other times at that meet provide the 50 breakdown. Guessing timing mistake. Still, 21.3/46.6 is a great recruit, regardless of the 1:38 or not.

Looking at the data I do suspect it might not be a legit time. I merely reproduced it from College Swimming. My apologies for not looking into this further. Still good sprint recruit.

Nice pick up for Amherst on women's side:

Daniela Gonzalez Pinero

All times SCM so easy to convert to SCY:

26.72
57.12

Cole Mason - Williams
4:40 - 500 free
16:06 - 1650 free
4:08 - 400 IM

Solid distance pickup for the Ephs. Should help that he'll overlap for 1/2 years with Trunsky, Lovette, Karofsky core
