Re: 2017 NCAAs

I'm back baby!

Emory men are swimming like a house on fire. Been really fun to watch these guys over the course of the season. Regardless of how standings shake out, these guys are a stud farm.

Re Smith's 18.9 split -- who else has dropped under 19.0?

Re: Andrew Wilson Wins USA Nats 100 breaststroke

WOO Screeeeeeeech is back! Huzzah! I have to say it: Andrew Wilson's swim totally eclipses anything that Bourne, MCB, Read Boon, D. Mulvihill, or any other D3 legend ever accomplished. Wilson is now an Olympic contender. He's the D3 G.O.A.T. And frankly, he has the chance to be an all-timer if he ke...

Re: 2014 UAAs

Uhhh, 3.5 points is close. .5 points would be the proverbial "slimmest of margins." It's really too bad the meet was split up like this. I can't imagine what the atmosphere would have been like if UChi and Emory were going head to head. Either way, too close for comfort for the Eagles.

Recycle? Why not re-purpose? I've got some friends at SEC schools that have taken old touch pads and turned them into beer pong tables. COLLLLEGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEE

Re: Favorite Competition Pool

Minnesota's pool, hands down. Great blocks, good walls, good gutters, and deep and cold. Also, that place can get LOUD.
Honorable Mentions: Georgia Tech, UGA, IUPUI.

Re: kenyon is not a title contender

Yes, I LOVE the pissing matches! This is exactly why I go on these forums. Can we talk about Wash U again? That was a fun convo. In all seriousness, who that participates in college athletics isn't a mercenary, when it comes down to it? We get paid (or get swayed at least) to go swim at a school for...

So, we're all excited that Kenyon is full of mercenaries again?

Welcome back Father! I missed your acidic and absurdly indignant posts.

Re: Slow relay times

Skutbe is totally right. Relay pads for all schools? Seriously? I don't know a lot of athletic departments that are throwing swimming a bunch of extra cash these days.
That being said, are the relays really that far off?

So this was an actual NCAA investigation? Some kid just made his name busting Staten Island. Kind of hilarious.

Re: Big 10s (and Turk)

His 137.6 was poorly split. A year around a truckload of guys under 1:35 might have led him to put together a great 200. The other thing I have been thinking is that as great as Bottom is, is he light years ahead of where Jim was prior to retiring? No way to prove it, but I would argue Jim would ge...

Although I guess when you think about it, maybe this system really does reflect our larger society. But that doesn't make it right (it may even prove it wrong). DOWN WITH THE CAP

Re: Last Chance Meets - policy?

Uh, I am probably wrong, and I'm not going to look up the regs, but my recollection is that you can go to a last-chance if it's within your team's 19 weeks and was on your schedule at the beginning of the year.

C heats

Are these going to stick around for awhile? I know we've had them for 5ish years now, but when is the conference going to realize that this is college athletics, not U10 soccer where everyone gets an orange slice and a participation medal? I'm serious; I don't see how a C head adds any value to the ...
