Re: Recruiting '20

Ahoy! Appears it's only us. Among those I missed from Calvin is Forrest Peterson, and he's a big one. Free/Fly with a 21.5/46.9/1:42.4 and 50.9/1:54.4 in the Fly. Along with the obligatory sprint speed all Calvin commits have, he may have the chops to make a Peterson (Cal) vs. Peterson (Hope) rivalr...

Re: Recruiting '20

Apologies for that, I just don't know as much about the women's classes since they tend to commit on college swimming at a lower clip than the men. Looks like you're right though, Hope's women will be a powerhouse next year barring Schaefer and a couple others suddenly transferring I'd be interestin...

Recruiting '20

most teams have probably just about wrapped up their classes now(possible transers asside), time to over analyze what this means for next year. This looks a lot different this year because the pandemic cancelled so many high school taper meets and different high schools prepare dramatically differen...

Re: Welcome (back) Coach Polzin!

This is fantastic news for both Alma and the MIAA. Love to see one of our own return and keep some positive momentum going. Some good pieces are in place to start building upon, and if college swimming is to be trusted, some more coming in. Speaking of, bout time for a 'cruitin thread

Re: NEW RULE CHANGE???

From what I understand, new rules are as follows 1. Event Order- Friday will look a little different now. The 100 Fly is now before the 400 IM, and the 200 Medley will now be AFTER diving at night. In my mind, both of them are good. Allows more time between the rather common 100 back and 100 fly dou...

MIAA '20-21 preview

Is it too early for this? I'm gunna say no just cause most people have nothing else to do right now Recruit classes are FAR from over, but we can at least address departures and what could be in store. Also, does KZoo debut their new pool this year or the next year? Notable departures by team: Albio...

Re: Natatorium Rankings

Kzoo: Wowza while everyone told me this pool was bad, I actually quite enjoyed it. The foggy wall windows gave light, bleacher style seating made it personable, no door stalls allowed great Chad moments as you get rid of the coffee in a pre-race defacation... Good times. Overall, 3rd best Calvin: Be...

Re: MIAA’S 2020

What a meet! Couple things Definitely more depth in this conference, and as expected by anyone paying attention, the freshmen in the conference are absolutely lights out. Very impressive from all 6 teams, at least on the men's side. As for top times being a little slower, the MIAA got nailed with th...

Re: The Disrespect

Wait now I'm confused... who do you think that is? I feel like you were building up to saying it was someone from Calvin, then went like a different direction maybe? IDK. Don't get me wrong I do think that was over the line even for a board notorious for poking fun at one another, but I also think "...

Re: MIAA 2020 Predictions

Lots of Albion love in this post. I thought we left the brash chest puffing claims to Calvin only?

Do like the times predictions though. Only ones slower than last year would be the 100 bk and 4im if you're right! Conference is definitely getting faster

Re: MIAA 2020 Predictions

Oh here we go!! First of all and most important, prop bets 1. Over/under on the number of freshmen zoo puts in charge of the owl? I'm setting it at 2.5 2. Number of watches broken being thrown at a wall by coaches? *cough Calvin cough* Setting it at 1.5 3. How many times does Hope shakes its head wo...

OOOOOOHHHHHH BAAABBYYYYYYY so happy this got fixed lemme tell yah Predicting wins for the Peruvian wonder already? that's just too many internationals taking over ;) jk but this isn't exactly the same conference as when he left. His winning time in the 4im from'17 would have earned him... 5th last y...

Re: Post MIAA 2019 Discussion

Another guy who should definitely be getting more of a shoutout is Olivet's Eric Wood. He's huge for them not only because he is a stud, but he's Olivet's main recruiting tool. Their coach can use him both as an example of the progress recruits can expect, as well as a guy you want to join with, muc...

Re: Post MIAA 2019 Discussion

Couple notes from the meet First, congrats to the women of Hope. Amazing meet from Albion, Hope and Calvin. That last relay was 100% on the coach. There is absolutely no way that you should have no back up plan for if the A relay DQ's, which isn't all that uncommon for prelims. That takes nothing aw...
